Howdy all, having some trouble getting into vaping. I'd tried the mistic and other truckstop variations before, some ok, some pure crap but had been wanting to try some tank systems for a while. I finally got a cheap ego setup at a smoke shop a few weeks ago, used it before bed, got up, both tanks flooded-gugrgling/juice in mouth/leaking out battery, went inside and dropped 12 bucks on 2 replacement tanks before leaving, same problem by days end. Got on ebay after reading up here for a while and decided to try an ego v3 with kanger protank 3, some nitelite juices I saw advertised here, and still having problems.

I've cleaned and tightened everything down after reading some people saying that fixed it on some tanks but to no avail. The first tanks were top coil long wick, so thought maybe storing it on it side was a problem, but the bottom dual coil kanger i figured was meant to have the wicks fully submerged all the time? Trying to kick the cigs but running out of money to throw at problems. I figure since i at least have a good battery now and the 2 cheap ones for backup with several juices, a couple of decent tanks should have me set a while.

I'd wondered about having burnt the coil on kanger, wasn't getting the mouthful of liquid and left battery on when threw it in duffel, but battery was still full so didn't think it'd burned up. Was losing just a bit of juice around battery too. I did put the 2nd coil it came with in tonight, will see in the morning how it is. I'd wondered about the cheap juice with the cheap tanks from the first purchase too, but the nite lite sounded like pretty popular and good quality.

I've had the same problems as the OP, went through 3 different tanks since I started in December. I'm hanging in there with the mild leaks and gurgling on this last one, when tax returns drop in, I'll invest in something better.

I have a friend with a 200-300$ setup who told me that Ejuice cracks plastic. Any truth to this?

Then get this-one of my supervisors at work is vaping this incredibly delicious smelling Pink Starbust flavor. So I come home and do a search on it. One website that sells it says in the description "this juice will break plastic tanks!"

truth?

The only leakage problem I had, was from a Protank on a Sigelei V5. Of course it had to happen while I was on a trip down to Orange County, and I had to pull off and deal with it. There are theories that a tank should never be let fall below 1/2 to 1/3 full, but then I read a post by a person who has knowledge of fluid dynamics and he said "pish posh." There are also people who claim the higher the PG ratio, the thinner the liquid, thus the greater potential for leakage. What I learned from my experience is that a Protank draws like sucking a bowling ball through a 1/2" pipe, so I discovered a thing called a Kanger Aero Base. What this does is replace the bottom cap on a Protank, Protank 2, etc., and is what you screw the coil into, thus replacing the original base. This adds about a 1/4" in height to the whole tank, but has a ring on it that allows the adjustment of airflow by rotating a threaded ring on it. There are three holes drilled in the side of this thing and when you twist the ring, you are effectively covering the air holes equally and can vary the stiffness of the draw (if you close it down) or make it more airy. The thing is, the bottom of the 510 connector is a solid piece....not drilled for airflow like all the others. I haven't had any leaks in my Protanks or Protank 2's since I added this $6 "adapter."

I started out with mini BCCs on an eGo C-twist, and was told by the guy at the retail shop to always wipe the threaded part of the tank with a tissue, and I also wipe the coil off. In my case, since I have switched primarily to glassomizers, I store them in the upright position whether they're filled or empty and never had a leak.

Make sure your coil is tightened (check when filling a bottom-fill) and don't get juice down the air shaft. If that happens, I found some mini swabs at a hobby shop that will go down most air shafts and you can 'mop' up the stray juice before going on.

Over tightening can also be a problem, and as mentioned, make sure all the parts are there (O-rings, etc.).

Hope this helps some and good luck!

if you are having leaking / flooding issues look at your wicks. there is sometimes a space between the actual material used for the wick and the case its in. just pull the top off and add some more wick material, its a silica wick. i use the wicks from my old CE5 tanks to fix my protanks if i have issues. the guys at next vapor spot in fort smith arkansas should be this trick, not sure if anyone else uses it but seems to work for me. i use a vamo v3 and kangertech protank 3 or ego c twist and protank 2.

Think I've pretty much got things set with the current tanks now thanks to the advice here. Blowing towards the drip tip when do flood was a great help, I'd been completely tearing down and cleaning which wasted juice, ripped some wicks, and couldn't be done on the road thus sending me back to the smokes. Keeping the clearo about 1/2 full and storing with the coil out of the fluid overnight also helping. Had my last cig last night after getting through the day without any major problems that kept me from having one of the 3 vaporizers available at all times. Thanks for the advice and I"ll add a couple of the clearomizers recommended here as I grow my collection.
