Tank recommendation for someone looking to learn to build, but afraid he's often too busy...

The Lemo is a fantastic rta - I have three. :)

The only problem I have had with them is some dry hits with max VG juice, but that may be my build/wick. With 50/50 it vapes fantastic and only dry hits when I take a loooong lung hit or really chain vape the heck out of it. That is with a 1.3 ohm coil. I have never gotten a dry hit using max VG with a stock Kanger OCC in any of my Subtank Minis.

You can get clones for like $12.
Not terribly interested in clones as far as a tank goes, for my mechs I didn't mind, though I do find the build quality to be a little subpar on my black stingray. With the tank I'm concerned there are so many variables that could lead to disastrous failures if cheaply constructed. I'm pretty close to placing an order containing the Lemo Drop and STM, then I would just have to order some lower nic juice.

I understand, but some of the clones are of high quality. Tobecco and EHPro both make high quality clones. I, personally, just can't see myself dropping a Benjamin on a tank. If you buy an original KFL, they are over $100. If you buy the newer v4, you are looking at almost $200. Screw that. I only go with originals when talking about mods and batteries because that's the part of the equation where failure is most likely to cause disaster. Don't want cheap mods with crappy chips, wiring, etc. An RBA is a different story because it's just metal and glass. It's pretty easy to "inspect."

But, if money is no object, go for the originals. BTW, there are STM clones, but they are only like $10 cheaper. It's smart to just buy the original. Same for the Lemo.

I can't justify 100 on just a tank either. I'm pretty close to pressing check out on my cart with the STM and Lemo Drop.

If you can adjust to a direct lung hit, it opens up the vaping world tremendously. Not saying it's for everyone, but I have and not looked back. You get a tremendous amount of vapor, and can up the wattage on your iStick in order to get the warmth you enjoy, even with the STM and Lemo. I am currently using my Lemo at 15 watts with a Sigelei Mini 30w and getting great flavor and vapor doing lung hits. For me the lung hit provides better nic delivery and satisfies my craving for cigarettes better than mouth to lung.

I have found myself doing more direct lung hits since getting my iStick, as my cartotanks have a gap from the flange and are much more airy than on my mechs with the hybrid adapters. I've always felt I got better flavor from mouth to lung. I am one of those oddballs who used to smoke years ago and started vaping not because I needed help quitting, but because I like nicotine, and dislike cigarettes. I had already quit smoking cigarettes for years before I started vaping.

I think I have decided, after much consideration, to go with the Lemo Drop, and forego the Subtank. Since I still have multiple cartotanks, I have devices to use if I don't have time to rebuild or wick when the need arrives. Next is for me to learn about building coils and properly wicking.

For learning to build, I wouldn't recommend the lemo or kayfun;

the flash e-vapour deck is accessible without having to worry about the juice in your tank, so that's what I'd recommend for the purpose of learning to build on.

That Flash is humongous, not really my style, like I said this is to pair with an iStick 30w, so size does count here. I am technically inclined, and work in a very precise field, so I'm not worried about my ability to rebuild, only finding the time to do it. And having cartotanks, and not wanting to risk my orings by hotswapping carts, I am used to draining my tank to change carts, no big deal...

One last question, I have about 100ml of my favorite juice at 18mg nic. I was thinking of getting another 125ml at 3 or 6mg and mix to dilute. If I am used to 18mg in my 2ohm cartos, where should I be trying to land for an RTA like the Lemo Drop at around 1ohm?

id buy zero nic and work your way up, yup, really, it makes that much of a difference.
the subtank mini, to start coil is already in place all u need todo is the wick, imo the wick is the key for good rta/rba vaping.
new tanks arent too expensive so if you dont like one its not like u broke the bank, stock up on juice, wick and wire though.

Yeah, I'm in it for two things... the nicotine and the flavor, so there is zero chance I'm vaping zero nic. I ordered 6mg, 1/3rd my normal level, I figured I'd try it at 6 and if I need more nic I can add some of my 18mg (same juice) to bring it up.

lol, i meant to say buy zero to mix w/ur existing stronger nic juice, these newer tanks 6mg is considered the high limit, believe it or not, i used to chain vape 27mg w/the iclears at 10-12 mls/day, now im at about 4 but still chainvaping but w/the stmini its a gizillion times better, im vaping 20-30mls/day

Since you already have the Protanks, Have you considered rebuilding those coils?

My PT's also ...... me off something terrible using the stock coils. I was ready to toss them and find something else until I started rebuilding and wicking with cotton. Since you're going to have the wire and wick for the Lemo, you might give it a shot.
