Super happy with my V5 new purchase. Albeit my first APV. The tank I bought with it is an iclear 30b. Both from a local b&m. For the last six weeks I've been using a voodoo and I've just been cleaning the tank and cartomiser with iso and forced air. Dude said to just replace coil every once in a while. why can't I just clean it, not that I can't spend the four bucks. I'm a noob not quite ready to start building my own coils just yet is this the right set up for me?

don't know about the voodoo, but for rebuildable clearos like the PT2 you can rebuild them and all you have to do is replace the wick in the same coil you built in it. It's something to look into but for Clearos like the Protanks Evods an such it's much cheaper to rebuild a coil or two every so often rather than buying packs of coils that will go bad eventually, causing you to spend more money.

In preparation for the Vapepocalypse, I got six new Vamo version 5's for my hardware stash. (Never mind that I have eight version 2's, six of which are in the stash.)

Except for the different display, there doesn't seem to be much difference between version 2 and version 5, which is to say, both are really good vaping devices.

Vision Vivi Novas fit the version 5's just fine, and those are my tanks of choice. (They work well for me, they're inexpensive, new heads are also inexpensive, they clean up well, and I can rewind the heads and repair the cylinder/hardware joint easily.)

If you are interested in high-end devices, then that is one of the smartest things you can do. The Provari is a fabulous device and certainly top end. Few other APV's can compete at that level. Get the mini. You can add extension easily later, often blinging out the Provari. For toppers, I like:

Clearos:
1. Nautilus
2. Aerotank
3. Protank

Carto Tank:
1. IBTanked
2. Phiniac
3. GP Snp

RTA's:
1. Kayfun (3.1 or Lite Plus)
2. Taifun GP
3. one of the above

I evolved from clearos to cartos to RTA's. I'm exclusively using RTA's and an occasional RBA (Origin or Taifun Dripper). Love the path and evolution I took. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a Provari and Kayfun day one, learn to rebuild by watching YouTube tutorials, buys some 28/29 gauge kanthal and cotton wicking and DIY my juice (which I did do day one). My vape is excellent and very hard to improve, but I continue to pursue. Very, very happy in Vapeland these days. My two cents. YMMV. Good luck, power up and vape on!

I'm a little confused about what exactly the Voodoo actually is. According to this website Voodoo Hookah's this is a hookah device. It's not really a cartomizer although the vendor calls it such. It appears to be a clearomizer with replaceable coil heads.

If I were you I'd stick with more recognizable e-cigarette type gear. The Innokin iClear 30 is a good tank. The Aspire Vivi Nova is also a nice tank.

A step up would be a cartotank. I recommend an IBTanked pyrex cartotank.

I rotate six different 18650's, and I anticipate they'll continue to be available for the indefinite future. They're used in a gazillion different applications: laptops, flashlights, etc. If worse comes to worst, I can always raid a Chevy Volt's battery pack: those use a whole bunch of 18650's.
