Okay, so I am about to order some equipment. I've read and read and read some more and came to a conclusion of giving the eGo C Twist a whirl. Now, I would really like to go with some sort of a tank get-up. I've read that the voltage the ego c vv a single coil, 3.0 ohm is best for maximum vaping. I don't understand the whole coil ohm ordeal and I've tried reading differences but I can't grasp it I guess. First off, is that confirmed? Single coil higher ohm is best for 3.7v - 4.8v.

If this is true then why the Hell can I not find a single coil tank set up? Only single coil replacement cartos. If you know where I can find one please let me know. If it isn't, what can I use in a dual coil to give great flavor and vapor?

Furthermore, I've looked into clearomizers. Seems good besides all the cracking complaints. Is this user error or are these things just made like crap?

Juices... I would like to try Don's Backwoods Brew. I hear so much about it. Has anyone had a problem with any of his juices cracking tanks or clearos?

I use that setup with the twist and use the vivi mini nova. But the best performance I have had it with 2.4 ohm heads. I think the 3 ohm are to much for the twist. BWB is good. Ahlusion and Heathers heavenly vapes are other popular ones. No trouble with cracked tanks.

2.4, eh? Was that through all the ranges of the twist? Thank you for the juice recommendations!

on my nova at work I use 2.0 to 2.4 heads at about 4v on a twist. the idea behind the twist is you adjust it for you, some like the same heads at 3.6 or so some want that vapor HOTT and turn it up. you have to just get it and try, there is no one size/volt fits all with this stuff, just like there are 500 cigs on the shelf not everyone wants the same exact experience.

Hi Hellsing. In my experience you are correct in your findings that the twist works better with single coil cartos. My wife vapes a twist as her all day vape, with a 2Ω carto, and at 4.8v, so the twist is a very capable package, even though it has its limits the price allows us to see beyond a large majority of those. Do you want a tank in off the shelf ready to vape? Or would you consider picking the parts seperately ( like this IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! ) This lets you get exactly the tank setup you are looking for. Plus these are borasilicate glass and are very resistant to harsh juices of all kinds.

I will say that the few of the pre-paired tanks that I have owned where just so-so. I have had eight different versions of various carto tanks, and must say the better(read pricer) tanks are.....better. If you do get a tank(or tank kit) do yourself the favor of getting a carto punch as well as some blank cartomizers. Because you will want/need to know how they work and how to adjust the openings to your personal tastes and style of vaping.

If the vape funds allow you should also do yourself the favor of getting a vivi nova kit. You may find this to be a great option on your new twist.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. This is my first step into big boy vaping from the cheap gas station slims. I'm excited and you guys just intensified that. Can't wait. Iusedtoanalog, great ideas. I think once I get a better understanding of tanking ill probably start Frankensteining tanks together, as that is my nature. You guys are awesome!

Also consider a pyrex glass tank. Pyrex glass is crystal clear, unlike polypropylene plastic which is frosted. Glass is often considered the better material when dealing with e-juices because it is totally immune to caustic flavors known to crack some plastics, and never taints the flavor as some vapors feel plastic can. One can be had for less than $20 at IBTanked. I just did a complete review of these tanks here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/349222-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks.html

Their website is in the review. I'd recommed the slim 19mm diameter tank for an eGo sized device. Choose the length of tank according to the carto you plan to use it. The vendor offers pre-punched single and dual cartos and drip tips on the site.

There's a current list of e-juice flavors known to crack polycarbonate plastic tanks in this link: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/219179-lets-make-list-juices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos-29.html#post7203876

On a side note, you can put single coil cartos in a DCT (dual coil tank). Smoktech was one of the first manufacturers of carto tanks and provided their new (at the time) dual coil cartomizers with their tanks to promote them. It seems that many of the other tank manufacturers followed suit and provided dual coil cartos in their tanks. The choice between single and dual coil cartos is totally personal preference. Try both if you haven't yet. I personally prefer single coils because they are kinder on battery life and have a smoother vape to me, with no drop off in vapor production or flavor. The only thing to be mindful of when buying cartos for tanks is the length; standard size tanks take a 35mm carto and extra long size tanks take a XL, mega, or 45mm carto.

I also take issue with beginner cartomizer tank users trying to punch their own cartos as a previous poster recommended. There is a learning curve to just getting a tank setup to work perfectly, let alone adding another skill set to learn in punching your own carto. I recommend at first to buy the pre-punched or laser-drilled cartos to remove that part of the user error element from the mix. Once you get tanking together, go ahead and get a punch tool and some un-punched cartos to learn that skill should you decide.

The cartos that I use in my tanks on the Provari are these:

I also like these: Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL

If interested, you can view my tank setups in the link in my sig below.

No matter which carto tank you end up choosing, I highly recommend that you also get the following tank tool from Big Daddy Vapor. Please watch and learn:

Just so as not to be a flame magnet it's always worth noting as time goes by try different things, the nova isnt the best tank it is the easiest most reliable tank especially for a beginner. it just works, and it's a good start, reliable, easy to clean, and heads are cheap. but there are all different styles of tanks. atty tanks, carto tanks, coil tanks(nova style) i like my mini for one reason at work - i do not worry about a pocket full of juice.
