Hi all,

Still fairly new to all this, so I need some opinions. I currently vape an E-go with 510 tank atty's - standard resistance. Overall, I'm pleased with this set up. I do however find that sometimes the vapor and especially the TH isn't always consistent (not a battery issue I don't think, since 80% of my vaping is done via pass-thru.) I vape Ice Menthol 36mg. It's brisk and I love that. I'm not likely to change flavors or nic strengths - definitely not interested in anything lower than this, at least for a while. I know that I could use LR atty's and probably get more vapor, but what I'm wondering is if I would increase my satisfaction by switching to cartomizers instead?

If any of you have gone from a tank atty to a carto, or from a carto to using a tank atty, please let me know your overall impressions. Which seemed to work best (most consistent, best flavor, strongest TH) for you?

Thanks guys!

I've tried quite a few different tanks setups. A lot of them do alright for vapor and even throat hit, but most tend to mute the flavor.

It probably wouldn't hurt to try some cartos to see what you think. Maybe try some Boge 2.0 ohm or the 1.7 ohm smoktech XL cartos and see how you like them without spending a bunch of cash to do it.

I almost always use a 1.5ohm dual coil carto on my ego...vaping a 1.5lr on a 3.7V device gives about the same hit as 5V would. I relly like the consistency of vapor production with a DC Carto...but sometimes the flavor gets weak after 4 or 5 days...I then clean my clear dual coil carto and its good for 4 or 5 more days with decent flavor..I dont like ego tanks at all they are inconsistent with both flavor and vapor production. I also use other devices, like the Silver Bullet and Helix, and a couple variable voltage devices...I use attys with these and get better flavor and sometimes better throat hit..I vape 24mg juice sometimes 18mg depending on the juice. Use a 306 lr atty with a drip shield on a tube mod and that will produce the ideal vape for dripping. IMHO

I used the ego-t for the first couple month of vaping. I loved it... BUT what got me looking at other setups was the atty preformance varried ALOT from one atty to the other. Very inconsistant.

I eventually turned to the Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto (EMDCC) eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Round Tip and the 1.7 ohm resurrector. Crystal Clear Vaping THEY ROCK.. I kept the ego battery and still used that.. Thats a good battery.

Now I mainly use the resurrector with a carto tank. Heres the tank from mad vapes. Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer Crystal clear vaping as the same tank too, and sells the pre punched resurrectors. Crystal Clear Vaping Crystal Clear Vaping

I use both: 3.5ml tank with 1.7 ohm single coil carto; or a simple boge 2.0 setup, both on the KGO.

The cartos are very consistent, and the flavor & TH does degrade as the carto empties but it is steady.

The tank is very inconsistent; when it is running smooth the TH & flavor is unbeatable, but it very easily loses both. I need to use frequent primer puffs & frequent cleaning of the carto center hole to keep the tank optimized.

I prefer the consistent performance of good cartos but since I vape A LOT the less frequent reload requirements of the tank greatly appeal to me too.

I tried pretty much everything. Ego-T -- the larger type B tanks that hold 2ml -- ended up being the only thing that worked for me. It's pretty much the low-maintenance part, and the consistency of flavor. Keeping track of which cartos were full, which weren't, spinning them or injecting them, that "full cart" flavor dropping fast... as little work as it seems, carts were just an on-going hassle. With the ego tanks, it takes 15 seconds.

Having said that, I would recommend cartos to beginners. You'll probably be trying lots of flavors. If you're like most people you'll find you don't like the majority of them. It's hard to get an unappealing flavor out of an atty. Easier to just use cheap, disposable cartos.

Good luck!

I've tried a lot of different set-ups myself and found that the ego-T can perform very nicely. If you like the 510-t and want more TH out of it then you can always get the LR version. Which you have already mentioned.

Depending on which carto that you choose will depend on how well you like it. I would suggest you get something like a 1.7 ohm carto for the best TH on an ego batt. If you go lower then you can stress the switch which CAN ultimately kill your batt.

Will it be better then your current setup? It might but, one thing is for sure. Cartos have a slightly muted flavor about it due to the filler material. Which is why some people don't like using cartos in general. They do have very consistent performance with every hit. So, you don't have to worry about that. The only way it would change is if your carto is becoming dry and needs to be topped off. You also have to make sure that the filler material is constantly moist. Either you have to have to keep it topped off or you can use it in a tank.

Even in a tank. There is times where you have to do some primer puffs or let it rest. So, that it gives time for the juice to seep throughout the filler material again. As you know, there are ups and downs to everything. If you let it stay dry for a certain period of time. Then there is a possibility that the carto will burn. You will have to toss it away in that event. Since you will be inhaling smoke rather then vaper.

With atomizers you won't have to worry about all of that. The problem that some people find with atomizers is that they are not as consistent. But, if you feed it after every 5 hits or so for it to perform properly. Then you will have a very satisfying experience from using atomizers. You will also get a cleaner taste when you vape at all. The 510-t or Ego-T brings out a different flavor compared to regular atomizers. So, I found that some juices actually tasted better in a tank. The only real downside is maintenance. Which can be a PITA for some people. Personally, I never had that problem.

Hope that helps.
