this is my latest 5v nimh mod

made from an 8-cell aa battery holder

set up with a small tank and running a 1.5/1.6 dcc

i used a horn button (modded) cause they work and i lovem !

i also added a plug-in for my voltage indicator so it doesnt
have to be mounted permanently

i used the 4-cell setup for a while but needed more

been using this for over a month now and not a single issue

here are some numbers :

last night, before i went to bed, i changed my batts (5-aa-1.2v nimhs-2300mah)
didnt check the power, but usually starts out around 5.3v-5.5v under dcc load
i took a few toots then went to bed
i start hitting it as soon as i get up (6am), then many times throughout the day
i just got home (6pm), decided to check power and got 5.1v under dcc load
i usually change them when i get about 4.8v under dcc load to stay in my range
this time period is about 1.5 days

so imho, the only hangup with aa-nimhs is size, which to me is subjective, lol

its pretty simple but aint simply pretty, lol, but i hope yall like it

the other side of my mod holds 2 additional batts for 5 total, i give up on the pics, lol

Did that batt pack come with the case or was the case just a luck find?...and that tank/DCC, is that one of those small ver. now on MV's?...if that batt pack and case came as a unit could you post a link please?, I've been looking for something like that.

actually my wifey found it for me, yes, luck find, lol
its a camera case at walmart which i changed from velcro to magnets (also walmart)
you got it, its the small tank from madvapes
i got the batt pack at radio shack

Anxiety?, pfft, gervis have you seen some of the crap I've posted???, really awesome or real crap, no matter, it's all about the effort, and to say it again, I get some of my best ideas from those who have no idea what they're doing...but ya, I hear ya, it's a little hard to post your mod and it ends up the next thread down from one of Mamu's engineering marvels...

thanks.In modding, i start a half year ago with 3xAA modd box, but was not enough for me, I try to improve my work.The tube is the best modd for me, plastic from boxes crack and is weak material.Anyway because i`am electronic engineer, is easy for me to do electronic parts.
And for you it`s a good start, if you have money and passion you can build modds even better.
