I've been vaping for about a month now. The supplier I bought my ecig from doesn't carry Nic juices, so I bought samples of no nic juices. Most of these juices taste good. A couple of weeks ago I received a couple of bottles of Menthol with nic in them. I tried these and found that they tasted terrible. I thought that maybe it was the Menthol. I ordered more nic juices from another company. This week I finally got my nic juices at 26mg. I wanted the nicotine so I can totally get off the analogs. Now I find that these juices taste almost as bad as the menthol ones. I haven't read anywhere about anyone mentioning that nic juices had a different taste than non nic juices. I haven't seen anything about nicotine juices tasting bad. I bought a lot of juice, having no idea that they would taste bad. They taste so bad, that I cannot use them. Now I am stuck with 15 20ml bottles of nic juice I can't use plus the 2 30ml bottles of Menthol I can't use. Is it me, or is it the nic in the juices that makes them taste so bad? I talked to someone from the company I bought my order from and he thinks it is the nicotine in the juice that gives it that taste. He suggested that I should try cutting it with no nic PG. I did this mixing half and half making it 12mg nic and it's just as bad. I tried this with 2 different flavours. Menthol and capaccino. The juices don't even taste anything like what flavor is on the bottle. All I can taste in all of the flavors is this terrible taste. They all taste the same with the exception of the Watermelon flavor. It is not as bad for some reason. But I can still taste that taste somewhat. I don't understand. Could I have a bad batch of juice, or are all the nic juices like this. Are my tastebuds so different than others? I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this problem. I don't know if I should try getting some nic juice from another company to compare. I've already spent a fortune on the juices I already have. I'm very disappointed, since I was counting on using the nic juices to get off the analogs. Now what? I'm at a loss. Someone answered my post in the Health, Breathing & Emphasema thread and said they haven't found any difference in taste between the nic juices and the no nic juices. Is this true and I have a bad batch? Has anyone else had this problem. Does anyone find a difference in taste between nic juices and non nic juices????

All I can give is MHO here and what my taste buds experience.
I have used both no nic and up to 36mg nic juice. I use menthol exclusivley and the only difference I could detect with the no nic was a somewhat lack of a good throat hit.
That being said, I orderd mine from Awesome Vapor and don't know if that made a difference or not. I have tried several different suppliers for menthol juice and most taste a little different to me. Some have a peppery taste (don't like) and others have a perfumey taste (don't like that either). So, to answer your question not sure anyone will be able to.

Thanks for answering bassn. It sounds like maybe my juices are just not good ones. Hard to say what the bad taste really is. I can't really compare the taste to anything else I've ever tasted. They are just bad. Both pepper and perfume are not something that can be good tasting. I suppose if I had to choose between the 2, I'd have to choose pepper. But more like a mediciny tasting pepper. I don't know where I should go to get something that has nicotine in it and tastes good too. It's hard to get suppliers in the US to ship to Canada. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to go nic less. 8-o

your stuff tastes like you are vaping someones smelly socks , don't they? i'll tell you what to do. go order a small bottle of menthol from Chris at MFS. any nic level you want. you will see and taste the difference

LOL. Don't know if I'd call it smelly socks. Never tasted those. Hehe. That might be Ok for the Menthol flavour, but what about the other ones? I have several. Can you give the full name. I don't know what MFS is? Are they In the US? That can be a problem. Thanks.

Sam, I've tried lots of different liquids from 0mg all the way up to 36mg and have not encountered this issue. There have been liquids that I simply don't like, yeah -- but not what you've described.

In your post you don't mention whether you've used the same atomizer or not with the same results. A defective atty will throw off any/all the tastes of your liquids. Weak batteries (don't trust a green LED signal on your charger as definitive) will not heat up the atomizer correctly and will also give you an unusual taste result. So...

a) try a different atty
b) check the voltage of your batteries with a multimeter
c) try the liquids on a different device, perhaps a local fellow user?

Hi Richie. Appreciate your response very much. I bought 5 new attys and batteries along with the liquides and am aware that the primer on them will taste bad. But after a day, it should be gone. The taste wasn't this taste when I got my 1st 2 ecigs. I tried the new juice in those as well. So far I've tried different flavored juices with different attys with the same results. Knowing that my 1st 2 attys were good and had no primer, I tried the juice on those and the got same bad taste, so it's got to be the juices. It's either the nic I am tasting, or the juice is no good. I haven't checked the voltages on the batteries, but they seem fine. They were fine with the no nic juices. No bad taste and good vapor. I doubt a defective atty would cause this bad of a taste. I imagine it just wouldn't vape very well. All the attys seem to create good vapor, so I don't think they are defective. I have 7 now and can't believe they are all bad. I'm really beginning to think it's the juices. It is hard for me to tell, since I've ordered juices twice and both oders have this taste. The 1st order was only menthol and it is even worse than the new order ones. I may just be having bad luck on juices. I don't know. The menthol was bought in Canada and the others from EastMall in China. Possible that the first menthol one was made in china too. Maybe the Canadian company buys their juces from the same place I bought my 2nd order. So far I'm not pleased at all. I spent a lot of money on juice I can't use. It's that bad. Your idea to compare with someone else is a great idea, only I don't know anyone who uses an ecig around here except me, so no one to compare with. Wish I did. I hate to buy more juice in case I get the same results. Even just buying a small sample is expensive when you consider shipping. This is really starting to get expensive. so far I've spent between 4 and 5 hundred dollars and I'm not happy. Don't get me wrong; I love my ecig and the no nic juices, but havent had any good experience with nicotine juice yet. If I could find someone to mail me a small sample of good nic juice, that would give me the chance to compare mine.

Samy, there's a Canadian Members group here in the Community Forums. I'm sure some fellow Canadians can steer you towards a vendor to buy from.

Yes, I know telsei. I'm a member of the Canadian forum as well. That is why I decided to buy my liquids from where I did. From what I had read, the company sounded reputable. They have very good customer service. The guy called me when I posted about this problem on their forum and spent 2 hrs on the phone with me from Australia. We came to the conclusion that it was the nicotine that I was tasting. I never imagined it would taste like that. I've tried all the nic replacement products and not one tastes anything like this. They're not great, but not really bad tasting either. Maybe it's the nic and maybe it's not. I have no way to know.

Many people have described the taste of nicotine itself as peppery with a bite. You may be sensitive to that taste sensation, too. Try diluting it with your no-nic e-liquid and see if the peppery taste goes away.

Hope this helps!

Hi Takethe RedPill. Cute name. What red pill? I have tried diluting it with the no nic PG and the taste remains the same. And I did use clean attys. So it's not something left in the atty. I have just discovered what you call a peppery taste and it's not bad at all. I find it leaves a bit of a taste in my mouth just like a real cig does. When I bought the crappy juices, I also bought some nic PG and some nic VG as well. Now I just discovered something. I've just been experimenting and I'm probably getting a nicotine overdose, but I tried vaping the tasteless nic PG I got from Canada. I just dripped it on the atty with a bit of no nic PG. It's fine. Non of that taste I had with the other bad juices. I did the very same thing with the VG nic juice I got with the crappy juices and it tastes fine too. So I have just found out, that what I am tasting that is so bad is not nicotine. The last thing I tried was the nic PG I got with the crappy juices and did the same thing I did with the others. I also used a clean atty. I notice that it does taste a bit of what I'm tasting in the crappy juices, but not near as bad. So, my conclusion is that the crappy taste is in the nic PG they used for the juices or in the flavorings they use. In either case, I now know it's not the nicotine. Glad I found that out. Now, I'm pretty convinced that the crappy juices I got were a bad batch. If this juice is what they sell to everybody, I can't see them keeping any customers. This company has only been around a year and their customer service is top notch. I don't think they want to loose customers. Next up is to contact them and see if they will replace the 15 crappy juices I bought from them. Cost me $90 for them. Worth trying. I think that their nic PG has something wrong with it or it was a bad batch. If they are willing to replace them, I will ask for it to be in a nic VG base since that one tasted fine. Or maybe in no nic and I can add my own Canadian tasteless nic juice to them.

Ah, so your deduces weren't so wild after all, eh? LOL

Sam, shoot me a PM. I have some liquids to spare if you want to test out your theory in that manner. I'd be happy to send them to my neighbor up north free of charge just to get to the bottom of this.

Oh, keep an eye out for an announcement from E-Liquid Planet. They will soon release a liquid product that is 100% made in the USA, nicotine and all! I have a couple of 1ml sample sizes that is to die for. And, no... you can't have those. =)

Hey again Sam!

the TaketheRedPill name is a double-reference to the movie, The Matrix''s reference to White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)/Alice in Wonderland, and to Obama's several references to blue pills being cheaper than red pills when talking about sacrifices to be made by Americans in health care choices under the proposed Obamacare.

We were talking about a problem like this in e-Liquid Reviews, specifically for Dekang liquids. My first batch of chocolate liquid was great. The subsequent batches were horrible, with a cherry cola cough syrup sweet kind of taste.

While the menthol and camel flavors don't seem to have this problem, the new chocolate and brandy are horrible.

I know you have all the nicotine. When you get it in your mouth it taste terrible. I usually use a tobacco flavor which I think you can taste the nicotine more than most other flavors. Any liquid with nic is going to taste different than non-nic. You probably got use to the non-nic and that with nicotine is a completly different taste.

I would try adding some different flavors to the nic liquid you already have and see if that helps any. I have marlboro and I add vanilla or caramel to it to give it a sweet taste. I think the sweeter the flavor gets rid of the nicotine taste.

I agree with Val. Dekang liquids have changed greatly in the last 6 months. I can't stand any of it anymore. Horrible stuff and I won't buy it anymore.

I've been buying from Tasty Vapor. Perfect flavoring and a killer deal as well. 30ml bottle of 45mg nic juice and a bottle of his "Doubler" mixed is 150ml of 9mg juice for an unbelieveable price of $27.

Nicotine liquid is $15 for 30ml of 45mg nic juice, and Doublers are $12 for 4oz (120.4ml). He has a flavor of the week nicotine liquid sale for only $10 with the code WEEKSPEC (Pina Colada this week). No discount on the Doubler.

I've also used his Doublers to fix up crummy juice since TV's is what Dekang's liquids should taste like!! Oh, and you can customize up to 3 flavors to mix (the Chocolate/Banana/Pecan and Chocolate/Caramel/Walnut is to die for).

I just got a bunch of flavorings. I got a few chocolate type flavorings that I thought would be good because the sampler of chocolate I had was very good. Now I'm finding all these chocolatey flavorings don't taste very good. I'm really disappointed. They don't taste anything like the sample I had. Don't know what they use for the choc. flavor, but it doesn't taste choc. to me. I got a lot of flavorings and haven't found one yet that I'm thrilled with. I'm sure not having much luck. I still have a few I haven't tried yet, so here's hoping. Now, on top of all that, I'm finding I have a metalic taste in my mouth from vaping. Anyone else find this?
