This may be an incredibly silly question, but in all my 8 months of vaping I have never understood what people mean when they talk about tasting juices on inhale vs exhale. Why? Because I never taste a darn thing on inhale. I only taste juices upon exhale. Am I breathing wrong? LOL I'm just wondering how exactly does one taste something on the inhale when taste is reliant on smell?

Help?

Hi Crafty!

When you inhale, you hold the vapor where it teases along the back of your upper palate and let it roll smoothly down your throat. It's slow and kind of something you have to think about when you are looking for flavor qualities..or at least I think so. When I am just trying to get the nic hit, I don't taste anything either on the inhale..but in the evenings I like to "slow vape" and savor the flavor, that's when the flavors become more pronounced.

By no means am I a vaping guru, but this really does work for me. I hold onto the vapor and find the flavors. :)

LOL, no, you're not breathing wrong. Myself, I get an impression, maybe to do with the vapor pooling in the mouth, sensation on the tongue, before inhaling. Not really flavor per se on the inhale. The exhale is really where it kicks in, particularly exhaling through the nose. YMMV.

When vaping, you are supposed to draw the vapor into your mouth, then continue to inhale into your lungs. You should be able to taste the vapor you have drawn into your mouth. I always do kind of a double puff/draw before inhaling into my lungs. I actually usually taste more in the draw/inhale than I do on the exhale.

It really depends, like others have been saying, how you are vaping. If you smoke it quickly, just to get the quick nicotine, you may not taste the flavor. But, on the flip side, if you slowly inhale for longer, and let the vapor tickle your taste buds, then you will taste it. Although exhaling I tend to taste the flavor very strongly, compared to the inhale.
