Hi Kathy. Fellow Ultralights smoker, now a new vaper. I was a non-menthol smoker though.
I think you were asking about the e-cigarettes themselves. I think most people here use reusable (except for replacing parts) 2-part or 3-part e-cigarettes. Some use prefilled cartridges or cartomizers. But I think most refill cartridges or cartomizers with the hundreds of types and flavors of ejuice available on the web. Ejuice can be bought in various size dropper bottles with a choice of nicotine strength. Different companies use various mixes of PG or VG too (I think that makes the vapor and feel of smoking). I found some of the smallest bottles hard to squeeze drops out of (wimp here). The 402 is a bit light hitwise but it's what I'm trying first.
So basically, any particular e-cigarette can taste like whatever juice you use to fill carts or cartos. Some e-cigs have more flavor, some have more vapor or bigger carts etc etc.
The various models vary a bunch in size, vapor production and hit, and even shape. It seems like many new vapers (including me) start with a device that is close to the size and look of a cigarette. Of those I think two popular ones are the RN4081 (I heard it makes lots of vapor, and it seems about as long as a 100 but a bit thicker) and the M4xx group (3 battery lengths available - M401, M402, M403 with the 403 being the shortest in length and battery life). Some popular models that are a bit larger are the 510 and the KR808D-1.
I didn't take big drags off my lights - I smoked them slowly, mostly sipping at them. So I bought a 2- battery M402 kit with manual batteries and I added a spare atomizer, some juice, some cart refilling material and a PCC (charging case - I am in love with it) to my order. Most people here who don't need to smoke hands-free seem to recommend manual batteries for more control over your drag vs the automatics which can trigger from wind etc. Every model probably has a downside - the M4xx series has very small cartridges and is light on vapor but decent battery life and good taste compared to some models. A lot of people eventually go to something like the 510 that puts of more vapor with maybe less flavor and shorter battery life. I may end up there but I'm starting with the 402 (however I am envious of all of the cool colors available for some of the larger models).

Really - read the beginner's guide and watch videos in the New Member stickies and on Youtube. That all helped me make my decision and I also avoided a lot of newbie mistakes that could have cost me an atomizer or a battery.
Good luck!
