i've done plenty of tattoo design work for friends. while i doubt $25 in nic juice is prerequisite for a friendship, i'll see what i can do over the weekend.
Not using it as a prerequisite! I said it earlier (i think...). Ive found some truly generous people here on ECF. Some that have given without a thought of what they might get in return. This is a chance for me to give a little. And maybe find a good design in the process. Even if I dont get a design I like well enough to get inked, the prizes will still be distributed. It may not be much, but it was/will be cool to see the designs that are/will be posted.
haha it's cool man, i'm just saying i'm all about giving back to this community because of all the help i gain from it and the help others get as well thanks to the the kind of generosity you're referring to. no promises, but i'll try and sketch a rough mock up this weekend.

Still looking for entries. I can say that its gonna be a pretty easy choice to decide on a winner so far.
I know when I want something, I want it NOW! But this project has landed at a busy time and requires hours at the screen.... so I promise next week I will make it a priority! Patience isn't one of my virtues either.

I know that Im closing the contest Jan 1, but I really had expected more entries by this point. I wasnt expecting a hundred+ entries, but more than the three that are entered to far.
Why don't you keep the contest open a little longer James? I think you left that open as a possibility in your OP. Holidays are busy for most people, December is a mad rush. Maybe you will have more luck in January when people don't have any money left from the holiday spending and are forced to stay home!
I keep trying, but between my non existent artistic skills and lack of software, I just can't do it. But I'll try to describe what I was going for...pretty simple, a wavy (blowing) flag background, fading out on the edges, with the navy anchor and your years of service centered on top.

Theres another entry that someone used with MSPaint. Not the best work (he said it, not me!), but it was enough to get his concept across... well, it was someone else's concept... but it was enough for me to visualize it. Post what you can do. It doesnt have to be perfect!
I hope this dont come out too big,i tried to keep it simple and a little traditional,,I just wish i had more colored pencils but you get the idea.I dont use photo shop or anything like that i usually hand draw every thing or just free hand it,, I hope no one gets mad i am a tattoo artist,i was also going to do a sketch in black and grey but ran out of time,,I work in a busy tattoo shop and rarely get to draw anything with colored pencils or charchol,,its usually sketch to skin,,Let me know what everyone thinks for some reason it came out upside down and tiny,,i am not the best at posting pics can any one help me out thamkx

The image was upside down so I cropped it and righted and enlarged. I really like what you did... and it looks very professional. Great job, x5150x!!!
