Hey ECF!,

So i'm really confused about the whole TCR functions for my eVic VTC Mini and my RX200, I'm running dual 316 Stainless Steel at 0.19 ohms, i usually set it at 75-85 watts at 470-500 F. Does TCR give a better vape then my custom settings? If so, how does it actually work? I keep reading 92 is the best for 316 Stainless Steel so i set my RX200 at 92 and even with it at 75 watts and 500 F. I get no vapor at all...I tried upping the M1 setting from 105 - 125 - 135 - 165 and at 165 i get a little bit of vapor but not much.. whats the point and what am i doing wrong?

I've got a 24g 316L dual in a Velocity at 0.19 as well. Spooky, eh ?

:p

Ok... I use something around 120 to 125 in a mem slot on both my RX and VTC for my SS 316 coils. I think it's just a given that JTech's default SS is underperforming with 316.
Or their calculations are off. It's JT math... who knows. o_O

But you absolutely should not have to up the TCR any higher than that to get a good vape.
And I'm running cooler and only around 40-50w.

Something is wrong with your setup, but I don't think it's the TCR setting.
Or you're not actually selecting the TCR memory that you're adjusting.
I could see doing that.

Shouldnt your ohms jump even if your resistance is locked? the 'lock' just notes the room temp so it knows it got to the correct temp when it hits certain resistance. When I lock my Istick base res. it still jumps when you fire if im not mistaken... I havent been using TC mode much due to battery life but I was vaping nothing but tc for a month or two. just got sick of charging more than once a day... If id known this wouldve been an issue I wouldve gotten the TC60w so I could have a fresh battery ready....live, learn and vape on!

Depends on the mod and whether it displays "live resistance".

The iStick 100TC does not.
I don't think the 40TC does either, but I don't feel like setting it up to check and I don't have a 60TC.
The RX 200 does not.

The VTC however... does. Probably the similar screened Cuboid and Presa as well.

And res lock doesn't matter.

The D2 does as well, possibly the Sig75 too. Again... I don't feel like checking.
I don't think my xCube does.

Like I said... it depends. :D

are you guys dry burning your SS? cause if nit the resistance hasnt settled and that could cause whats going on too. after you build the coil and vape on it/dry burn it the resistance will lower slighly and that will cause you to have to compensate to get a good vape, dry burn the coils let them cool and then try them at like 92 or 94 TCR

Ok so I just bought some 316SS 26g*2/30g fused clapton from;
Prebuilt SS Wire
Is this going to require a different TCR than just plain round coils? I have an RX200 & this will be my first time using SS for TC.
it by nature going to want more temp and wattage, but its still 316 SS so no, maybe bump it up 2 or 4 points, but its still going to be a cool vape compared to what you're used to

That's ok because my quest is for bigger cleaner flavor! So if the TC is not warm enough I can use the SS in Wattage mode! Right?

That's correct. SS can be used in either TC or Power Mode. A lot of people use the Crown tank with it's SS coils in Power Mode.

Cheers,
Steve

wow, i run 480 degrees at a 94 TCR and its a lava spewing vape at times, and i have most of teh mods with this chip, VTC, Cuboid, RX200, Istick 100w TC and i run them all with stock or 94 TCR. and its 26 and 24 gauge 316L SS
92 works great on my IStick 120w TC with a single 24 gauge 3mm 6 wrap 316 Stainless Steel Build at 0.4 ohms.
