So, I just ordered an itaste MVP 2.0.
Is this something I can learn to build onto?
Went this way because it comes with a built in battery and I'd rather hop into trying to build coils/atomizers and seeing if I can do that, before adding the battery expense as well.
Mvp2 is great, had mine about 5 months and it's still doing it's thang.

Using a smok Catapillar rda single coil build @ 1.7ohms 12 wraps on 18ga wire nail. I always see everyone mention "taping" one of the air holes on rda's with dual sides, i leave them both wide open and it rips at 5v. It also has adjustable air flow holes so you can set it wherever it works best for you. I picked mine up for $20 bucks from a local vape shop simply because it was the only rda they had in stock at the time.

Once you get your rda you can play around with different builds till you find what works for you.

Welcome to the NuT house!!

MVP 2.0 is a great choice for a "value" regulated mod - keep in mind that coils will need to be built to slightly over 1.0 ohms or they will not fire (not a big deal, you can crank up the wattage/voltage for extra heat).

Here is a link for Kanthal wire - I recommend at least 100' of 28gu to start...

Kanthal A1 Gauge 16 18 20 22 24 26 28 30 32 34 AWG 25' 50' 100' 250' 500' 1000' | eBay

No need for an ohm checker since you have the MVP - it will do it for you.

As far as a good/inexpensive dripper... there are lots of options. The simplest is the Igo-L, good for single coil build only, no adjustable airflow, stock airflow is kinda tight for my personal taste so be prepared to have to drill out the hole in the cap, also - no holes in in the posts makes it more difficult to build.

Igo-W is a great choice if you are looking for the option to do either single coil or dual coil builds - same scenario as the Igo-L (no adjustable airflow). For single coil builds you need to use some tape to cover one of the holes. I have reccomended it quite a bit in the past, but I am not sure it's the best option for you since you will probably start with single coils.

The Magma - duel coil only? What's a good cloned dripper that has both AFC, and easily accommodates both single and dual coil builds?

i know my vote isn't the most popular, but my favorite dripper is the dripper pro. it was intended for the provari but looks great on other mods too.
they also may the spiral same design...
anyway got miine from the classies for $50

i have a handful of drippers and rebuildables that i never got to work real good. untill the dripper pro.
and the sophia (cartotank rebuildable) is about the same in flavor.

ready wick from stormy's makes it so easy to build.
just need a tiny screwdriver, some cellucotton

the next best rebuildable imo is the kayfun, as far as flavor and ease of use.
and it looks smashing on a mvp2!

also, a diver v2 is a good option for about$30, easy peasy to build on.
not as nice as sophia, cheaper and vapes the same though.

anyway, these are just some other options that will give you amazing flavor and vape.
good luck

Atomic, but the build area is a little small. :D

Welp, I was going to make my next vape mail some drippers, but I gave into temptation and picked up an itaste 134 because I like the way it looks and a Provari because they've gotten good reviews. Anyone got good toppers for either of these two mods? I know, I know, it's not a reo. I was worried because I wasn't sure my tanks (iclear30s and Nautilus BVC) would work on a Reo. The website is not very straight-forward.

And you are right, they will not work on a Reo. First advice throw those iClear 30's as far away from your vape gear as you can. They are just terrible tanks.

That being said that sounds like a grand idea!! Until you know more (and stick around you learn through osmosis...lol) you should not worry about a Reo. I'll let folks who know more suggest toppers that work well with those. :D

CONGRATS!!

I have 2 iClear 30s and actually love them. I've had zero of the problems I've read about AND I get tons of flavor. They aren't huge cloud producers if you're into that but for me it's all about the flavor.

The magma (infinite clone ~$30) has an AFC and can be built in single or dual coil mode. I like to just do singles and use it on a DNA30 (cloupor clone $70)... and a coil around 1.5ohms gives you a lot of "efficient" range for selecting wattage. The well is nice and deep and the flavor is great. The "wide open" airhole(s) isn't the best for lung hits..

As far as a device... I don't really like the MVP, so I sold mine... but it was very useful and user friendly when I first started to upgrade... But I like my 30watt clone... and my reo's even more... but slow and steady. It's important to ease into it and not get frustrated in the beginning.

Congrats on the upgrade!
