i have 5 different models of e-cig and each of the batteries seem to respond differently. if i disconnect the battery from the atomiser and then suck on the battery the light will light up on some of them but not on others. some only require a very slight draw to light, others need a hard draw and some wont light at all. some of my batteries have small holes around the outside of the led, others have none. the ones with the holes are the e-cigs which have the easier draw.

i was always under the impression that the draw on the e-cig mainly depended on the atomiser being clean, not flooded and not filled up with crud. but some guys have the opposite way of thinking with regards to the battery being the main draw factor.

can one of the tech heads on the forum give me some clear clarification as to what causes an e-cig to produce a hard draw and how we can cure the problem!

my generic m401 has become hard to draw........ive drained, boiled the atomiser but this has not improved things!

cheers!

In most batteries their is a micro switch which is a bit like a realy in your car .... Sometimes like the realy in your car it gets stuck and the contacts get dirty .... I find if that happensa good hard bang on a hard surface un-sticks the switch ....You can also push a paper clip into the hole to un-stick the switch ..... If all that fails i find the best way is to ..... ready for it ...... take 200 paces and throw it in the bin lol lol

i cant speak for all models, especially ones that have holes in the battery, but i have a 901, and am pretty sure no air comes through the battery.if i cover the atomizer hole, i lose all draw, which means thats where all the air comes from. multiple holes will give more air, making the draw easier, but giving less vapor. i saw a vid on the forums with someone showing how to improve the vapor of the peewee significantly by putting a piece of tape over one of the 2 holes, decreasing air, therefore increasing vapor.i beleive if you are having draw issues, this would have to be either a blocked hole or atomizer, but that could be different for other brands and models.

You can post in the new members area. I believe battery packs with usb outputs need 1,000 mah minimum to power the atomiser.

Back on topic. I have a few 901 atomizers that have become hard to draw. These are on the SD so batteries are irrelavent here. Have tried swishing them around in hot water, blowing them out, I even boiled 4 of the buggers yesterday and they all still draw hard. When blowing I have only had juice come out, no crud at all.

I have my fave atomizer right now which is one that came with the SD (reserved for minty menthol only). Also got a 4072 with 2 hole and ordered a spare 4 hole on its way.

Now who can provide an adaptor for my SD with a 4072 att?

Edit. Those hard to draw attz also heat up quite quickly. Any clues there?

Someone used to suggest taking the plastic end cap that covers the LED off for an easier draw.

Well I did this a ways back with my 901, it doesnt really affect the draw so much as how hard you have to draw to make the vacuum switch work.
Some switches are a real pain to activate and taking off the cover should make it easier to work. Also some times it seems like a real hard draw on my 901 atomizers, when all I really need to do is take a light draw and it actually works better. I hope that makes sense.

Hi Mimi, welcome to the forum.

Don't worry about it, we post all sorts of off topic chit chat all over the place, at least you were talking about e-vapourisers.

I can't give you advice about your question I'm afraid, I'm not very good on electricals. You can start a new thread on the new members board though and I'm sure someone helpful will turn up.

Hey tech peeps:

I am unable to start a new thread (I'm too new) and I have a question. Can I use this to power my 901 with a usb cord?

Urk - Can't post a url either, so - here it is..

newegg.com
product: 5 outlet 918 joule mini surge protector with USB charger
on sale for $9.99

Any point in purchasing this item??

mimi,

You can use this if you have a usb charger for you 901. Looks like you could plug this into the wall then plug the usb charger in and it will charge it for you.....rather than charging it directly off your computer, say. Looks like you could charge 2 at once....if that is what you are looking for.

But, be cautioned....it is not clear how many mah are needed to charge the 901. Well, I don't know that figure anyway...someone else might. So this might have enough power or not....I don't want to say for sure.

It takes a 1000 mah to power the ecig you smoke right off the computer but that is not the same thing as a charger.

Hope that wasn't too confusing

Yup, I'm confused. I thought this item would let me plug in my usb e-cig and then directly vape it. But, it's probably not a good idea anyway.....it'll get me nic OD'd! Think it's best for me to drop that idea....

Thanks, Kate for lessening my embarrassment for posting...um.....stupidly. That was kind of you!

This forum has been just delightful!! (Gawd, don't I sound Old?!?!:)) Sometimes it's just hard to 'chat' with peeps that are younger than my children..........sigh......

Sorry mimi, I thought you were talking about a usb battery charger. I went and looked at the specs. This would not be enough to power the usb passthrough ecig as each port is only 500 mah.

It would be designed to charge an ecig battery but again, I don't know if this has enough power for that or not.
