I got my first e-cig last Friday. Initially I thought I had the hang of it and I've been using it quite a bit. But one thing that seemed to bother me is that it didn't seem to work consistently. Some times it would produce a lot of vapor with a puff, other times not so much. And it was almost impossible most of the time to know if I was actually inhaling anything.

Since the model I got is not one that is discussed here much, I thought I might have got a lemon of a unit. To the degree that I went ahead an ordered a joye 510, which arrived today actually.

Anyway, the day before yesterday I was taking a drag, and for whatever reason I took it really slow, I thought I had been drawing on it slowly, but this REALLY slow. And WOW! it was like all of a sudden I really had my first true e-cig sensation. I got the satisfying throat hit and plumes of vapor, its totally awesome. It wasn't my unit after all, it actually works perfectly. It was just my learning curve :)

Is your battery manual, or automatic?

Hey Stage ! Thats funny, cause my wife was doing something similar (she was hitting it hard/fast like an analog) never getting any plumes or th, but she was content since she wasnt analoging (new word)

Learning curve it is but, Im enjoying this one !!

Tell us how you like the joye510 since you now have something to compare it to.

Hi Stage and glad you learned "the right way." Also was the hard way to learn...blaming your unit and buying a new one LOL (but you got one that can grow w/ you...so it's all good!).

For new members reading this thread, Domino has a good post in our library

The main thing is to draw smooth and slow to allow the atomizer to do its job.

So glad you got that all sorted out, it can get very frustrating when we can't make things work the way we know they are suppose to or want them to. I'm sure you will enjoy your 510 also.

I keep trying different techniques that will work best for me. I hate having such a hard slow pull it hurts my jaw, but I never had a problem getting vapor going or feeling it in my throat. I seem to get easier draws now with the 5 volt so I'm much happier. Think I'll try dripping soon.

All the best and happy vaping to ya.

I actually think that I'm becoming more addicted to e-cigs than I ever was to analogs lol

Since a couple of people asked, I've been using my 510 for just about 24 hours now. The most impressive thing is the amount of smoke, errr I mean vapor, huge plumes. I might even start blowing vapor rings soon lol I got it with both a manual and an automatic battery so that I could equally compare the two.

I have to say going against popular opinion that I still prefer the automatic. Either way I am able to get a good amount of satisfying vapor, but it just feels really weird to me to have to hold it in a way I can hit the button. If I smoke a cigar I even hold it the same way I hold an analog, so I guess that's deeply ingrained.

On the downside it seems like the juice doesn't last very long, not sure what I might be doing wrong or if that's to be expected. I've been filling up the cart as much as I can, I just seem to go through it quickly. My other e-cig, an Eluma, one of the prefilled carts would last me most of a day.

The bottom line, I'm satisfied with both of the models that I have, both were worth the investment and I love vaping. And I think its awesome to share the experience with other like minded people :)

I have both auto and manuals and I like autos better myself. No matter what type of battery you have, you diffinately hit an e-Cigarette different that you do an analog.

Sounds like your getting the hang of it and are setup with a good unit, the 510.

Heh, I just started today. I'm still smoking regulars, too (because I love smoking), but I was okay-happy with the 501 vapor-wise and flavor-wise. I missed the throat hit and "lung hit", but the taste was okay and the vapor great. Figured I'd get some really hot-pepper type of fluid to improve the experience.

Then I accidentally inhaled it "correctly" (the long "breathing" hit, which I NEVER do with a reg. cig.; not sure you CAN do it with a reg. cig.), and it was like a light went on: I FELT it!

It's funny, I think I watched a You Tube that said *not* to breathe it directly into your lungs. But that's how it worked for me -- I primed it, then took a long slow drag like a long slow breath!

Now my only real issue is that my nicotene liquid is WAY too strong. I think 26 or 28mg, and it makes my head swimmy. I think I'm going to bust that nic level down to an 8mg or less. I'd love to enjoy this thing a little more, but not when it makes me nauseated.

(I'm one of those smokers who doesn't believe I'm addicted to nicotene at all, but the actual experience of inhaling smoke and holding the cig, etc. I have no idea why I ordered such a high nic liquid.)

I totally get what you're saying about not believing you're addicted. It's like in the entire time I've ever smoked I don't know if I've ever felt a true craving, but I love the whole ritual of smoking. The taste, the feeling of the smoke, playing with the smoke lol

I got that buzzed feeling too, something I hadn't really felt since I first started smoking. I was online talking to the friend who introduced me to e-cigs, and I told I was feeling a little dizzy, she told me to slow down a little lol

Anyway welcome to the forum and I hope you really enjoy your e-cig experience. :)
