Hi everyone, I am new to vaporing- my first experience with vaporing was with the new disposable Logics Sterling - 1.8 nicotine, it is an awesome device but I do not like the fact that it is disposable. I then went to a smoke store and picked up a rechargeable set, for some reason it does not have a company name, came with a carrying case with ready filled cartridges in cherry, yucky taste I then purchased the vanilla flavored cartridges found them online for half the price- finding that with these cartridges I am getting a numbing effect on my top front teeth, gums and lips- I can't stand it and I am ready to go back to Logics disposable even though I don't want to because it is not eco-friendly. I did lots of research on the internet and found others who have the same issue with PG juice- yes there is a VG juice- but I came across another brand from the UK called Gamucci, anyone know of this product? Seems reputable. Thank you and perhaps others have same issue with numbing and by the way I came down with an awful cold sore on my lip

That does sound like an allergy type reaction. Switching to VG juice might help and there are tons of places you can order it from. Fair warning: people will start throwing recommendations at you for EVERYTHING. There are a lot of great options as far as ecigs and juice go. Do yourself a favor and research! Don't just throw in with the first suggestion that comes your way. The most common ecig systems you will see recommended here will be the 510, the eGo, and the kr808. It's a good place to start if you are looking at buying a new ecig. They are not disposables, and none of them are bad choices. The vendors listed in the distributor forum are reputable and any of them will provide good service no matter what you order.

You probably don't need to switch to thick VG juice. You can try a blend like 70PG/30VG. Nicotine is a skin irritant. PG does little to buffer that. VG dulls/smooths TH, irritation, flavor (everything PG lets through well). Using a blend you can get the best of both - decent flavor and TH while removing a lot of irritation.

I started on 18mg (same as you) and my tongue got numb and sore. I switched to 70PG/30VG (like Backwoods Brew uses, and many places offer selectable PG/VG) and no more sore tongue.

Now I use cartomizers, so I switched to 80PG/20VG because it keeps the cartos wicking better and dragging better longer.

Another tip - if you are using stuffing type cartomizers (combined cart and atomizer in one piece that screws on the battery), try using a plastic or delrin drip tip instead of the little white cap on the end of the carto. That will bring the vapor into your mouth in a wider stream and back behind your teeth instead of in a tight stream hitting a smaller area. buy the standard kind. The fancy handmade swirl aka twist drip tips do not fit in cartomizers.

Another tip - if 16-18mg is too irritating for you, try 10-12mg and just take extra drags. 3 drags of 12 is the same nic as 2 drags of 18. (1.8% is 18mg per ml - same thing)

If your current juice is PG and too irritating, the the cost of some flavor and TH you could add some vegetable glycerin to it (Michael's crafts carries Wilton Glycerin with the cake decorating stuff, Walmart has Humco glycerin near the rubbing alcohol and Humco says theirs is all vegetable)

And I would not trust cheap mystery carts. Maybe the nicotine level is incorrect. Have you considered filling your own with decent juices? if they are cartomizers I would try 80PG/20VG juices (30% VG can bog down the drag quicker as you reuse a cartomizer).
