Hello again..

Just when I thought I had it down, things are going pear. Busy reading the "Tips & Tricks" section while I post this.

My Mini started leaking, and on closer inspection I found a tear at the top of the tube (between the bottle cap and where the tube connects at the top).

I saw Rhapsodies Fire's explanation to "Gently pull the tube straight down....should come off relatively easy. To put one on, use your ejuice as a lubricant, and slowly twist the new tube on as if you were finger tightening a screw. Takes a minute or two....and you may need to set it down, walk away & take a breath once before you get it back on. ".

I have a feeling this might take me a few days :). Is it possible to vape without a bottle by just dripping small amounts into the reservoir? I haven't vaped in a few days without any craving so it's not a dire situation or anything.

Also how do I test the health of my atomizer? I was using a Cisco 2.0 ohm 510 atty before I discovered the tube tear. I would blow it clean and then drip 7-10 drops directly on it and wait a bit. Then when I took a hit the vapour was very harsh on my throat and not much vapour production when I exhaled, but no burnt taste. Blowing it clean again and then hitting would give that burnt taste.

Lastly, I tried a LR atty (both 1.8 and 1.5) and it was really harsh on my throat. But it wasn't how I expected TH to be. It was more a coughy TH, hard to explain. Could the "feeling" of the TH differ depending on the juice used? Bear in mind I am using 100% VG so maybe my body doesn't agree with it or something.

I use cartos, so can't help you with the atty part, but I do try different flavors by dripping in the juice cup all the time, works very well. Have you tried taking the tube off, and turning it around so the bottom that used to go into your bottle, is now the top? I have read here that some people do that until they can get new tubing.

Yeah that's what I'm doing, thanks. I have a spare tube too but would rather save that one for now. Still hesitant to use cartos for fear of inhaling that burnt synthetic fibre stuff but I won't start that debate in here :2cool:

awww...:( I'm sorry you're having trouble.

Okay, first...yes, you can drip and vape on this just like any other device. If you are going to remove the bottle, I suggest sticking some tissue in there so if there is any juice getting down the tube, it doesn't make a mess in your mod.

I do strongly suggest removing the tube, and putting it back on with the bottom at the top, then at least you have the leak taken care of until you get a replacement. If you don't feel you have the dexterity to do it, perhaps you have a friend with small nimble fingers that would be willing to help you. Having said that, when it happened to me on my first REO, I was upset and told my husband "FIX IT" as I shoved in his hands. His fingers are not near as nimble as mine and it only took him a minute or two. When I say you may want to set it down and walk away...that comment is for those who are upset because they are having a nic fit and get frustrated easily. If you aren't having those fits, it may not be as frustrating as you think. :)

Atomizers....I love them and hate them at the same time. *sigh*
As far as testing them, there are a couple ways of doing this. First, if you have another atty that is new, it might help to try a new one to see if it behaves the same way. Prime it first, of course. You can also meter the atomzier with a multimeter, but if you're getting it to work, it is unlikely that it is a dead atomizer. How long have you been using this atomizer? What method have you been using to get juice to the atomzier? Just squeezing the bottle and watching for juice to appear in the reservoir? Just dripping?

So you brought up juice...yes, the juice does play a big part in throat hit. If it has PG in it or a decent amount of water, the TH will be greater than say a mostly VG. Also, juices higher in nicotine content will also have greater TH than those with less. Unfortunately, this is where it becomes a trial & error thing. You must try it to see if you like it. I can make suggestions on what I think you might like, but I could be way off. Are you noticing a peppery taste in your mouth & nose when you are feeling this harshness on your throat? What is the nicotine level in your juice?

Thanks for the reply.

Been using it about 2 weeks. Mainly squeezing the bottle and waiting for juice to appear. The reason I dripped was to see if there was a problem with how the juice is being fed from the bottle. Other attys are giving the same problem, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'll try something else and report back later.

Not particularly peppery. Nic level is 12mg. Still waiting for more juice to be shipped so that will be interesting.

Have you tried what we refer to as "blind squonking?"

So instead of watching for the juice to appear....without pressing the button, try softly drawing on your drip tip at the same time as you gently squeeze the bottle...just until you hear the first gurgle. Then stop. Now vape. If this is good, then vape a couple more times, then try this same method again. Go slow and easy. You don't want to "drink" the juice. :)

To me, this method delivers just enough juice to cover the coil, but not too much....so there is no flooding...which can kill the flavor.

Update: Well the problem was too much juice. Weird, the first few days with this atty I was able to use about 10 drops and vape fine, albeit with gurgling etc. Now when I try with that much juice it seems to be too much - it vapes but with hardly any vapour. Does this make sense? And I think that throat harshness is because my body is starting to heal from zero analogs, but I could be wrong. The first few vapes I feel a coughy TH which I get used to after a few mins.

Thanks Rhapsodies Fire!

Yes it makes sense...it means that your atty has been sufficiently broken in. Wish I had thought of that perspective when you first posted.
And yes...it is possible that you are going through that no analog adjustment. Not everyone goes through it, but I did. It took me 2 weeks to go through the withdrawals/detox.
Regardless...I'm happy that you are getting better flavor and less pain. Keep us posted! :)
