hello,

I've had my telescope mod for 2 months now and I was extremely pleased with it.

however yesterday it stopped firing.

is anyone who has faced a similar problem willing to give me some advice on how to fix it?

the batteries are fully charged and have been tested with a voltage meter.

when tested the mod showed around 1.5 .. so something is not making the proper connection? I am stuck as this is my only vaping device and it's very frustrating.

i has never been dropped or exposed to water or dirt.

any thoughts?

You're probably right about poor connection.... or you'd have more voltage. Either that or the batteries are dying. But assuming a poor connection:

(grain of salt since I don't have a telescope mod)

Clean contact surfaces for batteries to remove oxidation.

If you can, remove the button part. Spin the button itself and "bang it around a bit". I think the telescope is an all mechanical mod...so the button contacts may wear. Particularly with higher voltage (stacked setup?????) If it's a MOSFET then don't do this.

If all else fails, use the multimeter to check conductivity if it has a setting for it (see its manual). Or you could test ohms on various connections....should basically be zero.

Prolly think about a new button. Check with vendor 1st to see if others have had this issue and how it is usually resolved.

Mechanical switch PVs are a joke. Banging some brass screw (or other base metal) against a battery means ongoing, constant maintenance is needed to maintain optimum performance. Insulating oxides form rather quickly and you usually end up with a very small point of contact. These forums are littered with all the problems and various fixes from over the years. Nor are the problems relegated to only cheap PVs

If it's the telescoping mod from Smok-Tek , the wire that connects the battery end , to the actual 510 connector , is probably fried . Happened to mine . You can use a wood dowel , or someting similar to punch out the connector cap ( pressed fit ) and look under the little plastic cap , that has the battery connecton pin . If it's fried , just soldier a new ( bigger ) wire on , and put back into the body . I just taped it in with a board , and a few whacks from a hammer ( on the board , not the device ) I think there is a Youtue video of this . Good luck

hello, yes it is smok-tek telescope.. i was under the impression they were the sole makers of telescopes, that's why i didn't mention the name of the maker.

i didn't resist and opened it up.. wire inside looks kinda iffy.. but i don't know much about wiring and rewiring

If you are getting voltage, then it is most likely not the wire. Also, since you pulled the cap, you will know for sure if it were.

One person suggested pulling up on the center pin wit a paper clip, my experience with this is that you will need a flat tip jewelers screw driver to actually lift the center pin( stiff). Also check the center pin of your atty. if it is recessed, you will want to pull that out too.

This happens a lot as I switch attys on my Tele. Some require more turns to feel secure.

Anyhow, good luck. Sound like a center pin to me.

thanks,
i've tried many different attys on it and none worked.. center pin pull didn't work either

i got 1.5 voltage on a fully charged 18650 3.7V battery and that was just for a split second.

It's a fairly simple , one wire type thing . If you don't have a soldering gun , you can get alittle kit at Radio shack , home depot , etc . and you need a piece of wire to replace the one , that' there . I used a piece of speaker wire , worked just fine . Pre-tin the ends of the wire ( heat them up , and melt some soldier on them , then heat up the wire , and the spot where the wire goes . Both ends , Fairly easy . I fixed mine several months ago , and still going strong .

..this is most definitely the wire issue.. two of my friends had similar issues and he had to resolder the wires

hey guys,
thanks for your tips, I was away for 2 days and haven't been able to reply earlier.

I will most probably get another mod until i can find one that will suit me. No idea on how to go on fixing the telescope. Might have damaged it even more while trying to get to the wire actually.. so there it is!

Any suggestions on a replacement? something telescope-like that does not exceed the 50euro budget I am currently on?
