Yesterday, Friday the 20th of December, one of the top shows on cable TV, "The Five".
dedicated about five minutes of their show tearing into New York's mayor Bloomberg
for outlawing e-cigarettes in New York city.

More importantly, they extolled the health benefits of vaping vs. analogs.

The icing on the cake happened when 3 of the panel members smoked e-cigs
during the segment. (Three guys). Of note, they were blowing vapor
into the faces of the female panel members, with no complaints, no waving
off of vapor. A seminal moment.

Hope the administrators can find this footage and post a link on this site.

It would boost the morale of all of our members.

vape on, brothers and sisters... Ed

Wow, just watched this video and I am so stoked for the future of e-cigs in America. Everyone knows that NYC, under the reign of Bloomburg has suffered. I think that there are enough THINKING people in the US to realize the silliness of banning e-cigs, and realize the incredible health benefits of quitting smoking. Cheers to The Five for championing the benefits of e-cigs and the industry that is fueling quitters across the world. :toast:

I think these same people talked about this issue in a similar tone before but this is different because they actually used ecigs.

Regardless, the last time someone mentioned Fox News saying something positive some people on this forum felt it was necessary to diminish positive statements because it was on Fox. Pretty sad.

It is sad. Fox News isn't even far right-wing anyways. The people who think this are usually quite far left-wing. Of course Fox News does lean towards the right, but not any more than MSNBC leans to the left. CNN is moderate but still is noticeably left-leaning.

And that's why I follow all three sources (as well as several others). You don't get the whole picture from any one news source.

But back to the topic of this thread, despite the erroneous "water vapor" claim, that video was great. I'm willing to overlook the whole water vapor thing, because compared to cigarette smoke, second-hand vape almost is only water vapor.

any positive ppress is good, however, the depressing part is the rationale the NYC city council used, it might be mistaken for a real cig and cause conflict? last time i checked most vapers are over legal smoking age and graduated kindergarten many years ago.

how in the world can a mod look like a real cig???come on people... =)

I'm not a Fox fan because they have an agenda. I will, however, give them kudos for the support of vaping. I agree about the water vapor when compared to cigarette smoke, but unfortunately any error can damage the position of e-cig supporters. We correctly point out how erroneous the opponents of e-cigs are, so it is not good when supporting evidence is flawed, no matter how minor.

Bloomberg can kiss my.... I'm a liberal. I admit it. However, this liberal is a strong believer of bodily autonomy for men, women, everyone.... The reasoning behind banning cigarette smoke was because there was irrefutable evidence that it causes damage to a bystander. I think it's reasonable for your rights to end as another's rights begin. There is no such evidence for e cigs. In fact, I'm still wondering where he got off thinking he had a right to monitor soda drinking. No one is violating anyone else's rights by drinking soda. I don't know about anyone else's kids, but my eight year old knows the difference between a cigarette and a vape. He celebrated when I started using the vape.

i think the last 2 mayors of NY were such great leaders this bloomberg guy feels like he will long be forgotten when he leaves office thats why he is trying to impose such radical laws in his mind there is no such thing as bad press

He may think that any press is good press, but he's woefully mistaken. The important question for anyone with his ego is how will history treat him? Not with praise, I think.
