Hey everyone,

Newbie here. Background: Never been a "real" smoker. For the past year or so, I took up the habit of smoking two or three analogs when I would go out with friends, or studying for stressful finals (law student). Eventually, I tried a friend's e-cigarette and fell in love. I enjoy it 10x as much as smoking.

However, unlike what appears to be most people who are into vaping, I'm not interested in customizing, tinkering, modding, fixing, upgrading, etc. I want a setup, or a kit, where I can just fill my tank up in the morning, charge it when I need to, and get consistent, good vapor/flavor, and never look back (or forward).

Current set up:
Mini Protank II
Standard battery with a button I got from the sketchy vapor store down the street (i've been told its a "knock off").

My problem: I have anxiety filling up my tank. I feel like every time I remove the base to fill up my tank, and screw it back on, it changes the way my e-cig works. A new "gurgle" or noise will happen; the pull will be tighter or looser; vapor will be thicker or thinner.

So, I'm coming to you guys... What should I get? I feel like I need to upgrade my battery, especially since it's already been called a "knock off." Further, what replacement parts/brand should I be getting? My Mini Protank II came with an extra head, or coil, or whatever. I don't mind replacing those, especially because they seem to be pretty cheap, but I do not know which ones to get, especially if I get a new battery.

Welcome to all suggestions/tips.

Thank you!

I'm not much into tinkering with settings on e-cigs, so I don't use VV or VW. I feel like if I wasted the money on that, I would find one setting I like and never change it. I got a Smok Woo kit. It is a mod that has 2 batteries stacked and is regulated internally. I use the Smok DCT 2.0 ohm cartomizers, and they leak a lot less than the Kanger tanks I have used in the past (Protank/II.Evod/MT#/MT3S) Food for thought, check it out. Used mine since August and still love it.

Welcome to Tasty Vapor

Hello, the gurgling comes from the cartomizer. Hold a tissue to the battery end and gently blow thru the mouthpiece. It sounds like you got some liquid in there. Other than that don't screw on the cartomizer so tight. It needs air flow in order to work correctly. And if vapor production is getting low, change the head on the cartomizer. Don't throw out the old one unless the wicks are burnt. Just rinse under some hot water or soak overnight in some vodka and let dry completely. Then when the new one starts lowering in vapor product, just put the other back in and rinse and repeat...

This kit - Good quality battery and more Protank Minis. It also gives you the option of variable voltage, which in my opinion, is indispensable to a vaper.

Replacement coils - http://www.vapedojo.com/collections...arts/products/kanger-protank-replacement-head

The reason that your PT MIni gurgles is because when you break the seal you lose compression, and the juice that was stuck in the center tube comes loose. As Sugar_and_Spice suggested, just blow the excess juice onto a piece of paper towel, and that should bring the PT Mini back to full working order.

Even though you don't like to fiddle with things, cleaning the old coils is very easy. Soak them in water, vodka, or PGA for a day, rinse them off, and let them air dry for a day. Voila!

Sorry, but I refrain from advising a non-smoker to try anything that could lead them into becoming addicted to nicotine.

It looks like you missed the whole part in the OP about smoking cigarettes...

Background: Never been a "real" smoker. For the past year or so, I took up the habit of smoking two or three analogs when I would go out with friends, or studying for stressful finals (law student). Eventually, I tried a friend's e-cigarette and fell in love. I enjoy it 10x as much as smoking.

Vaping is always better than smoking, no matter how little or how much one does it.

You could try the new clearomizer Aspire BDC. I'm really enjoying it right now. Easy to refill, no gurgles and the head easily lasts 10 days. As for battery, the Vision Spinner looks nice with the Aspire and so is the Ego-C Twist.
Cheers!

Though I agree with you about vaping vs. smoking. it's my own personal stand about vaping. With the political environment around the e-cig issue I feel that it's important this community not be seen as promoting the use of nicotine. Especially to non smokers or those who are casual users of cigarettes.

Now I have the spice girls stuck in my head!!! Anyways. The ego twist is a great batt. Just make sure you clean out the threads when your clearo gurgles. My first setup was an ego twist and an iclear 16 dual coil vv/vw. Pretty much maintenance free. Just fill charge and go.
