I just reached my 1 year mark of not smoking, and as a present to myself, I want to get something a little bigger (currently using a Protege). I have looked at reviews, but I would like to hear from those of you who have had one of David's works of art for awhile. I am looking into the 18650, so give me your honest opinion as to why I should choose a Precise over a Prodigy V3 or SB (besides the lifetime warranty....which is AMAZING)

Hi there tic,

I can't speak for the V3 or the SB since I have neither. I do have two mods, one of which is the Precise 10440. The other is top of the line and has a price tag that comes with it.

As for the Precise, if you want a mod that not only looks professionally made, but performs as well then the Precise is the one. No corny screws for mod to atty connection. No cheesy looking end caps. On and on.
Seriously, this mod is all class and professionalism. I can't stress that enough. I can't say enough good things about it.

Customer service? Just from my xp I can say the absolute best. The post office lost a couple T-tips that I ordered and David sent me two new ones. Once I got the ones that had been lost with a really funny stamp about them being lost in supposedly empty equipment I sent them back to David. The point is, he knew he had shipped them and he could have told me to get bent, but he didn't.

Hope this helps

Regards
Jim

Postscript: I ordered the 18650 Precise on April 25th as soon as they became available for pre order. I knew it would be worth the wait.

I have a Protege and use it every day, happens to be my go to device.

That said, I also have the Precise 10440. The way this unit is designed is truly amazing!

I do not use it every day, but I do use it. Not exactly what I had expected as far as performance................but is exactly what David said to expect. Battery life is a bit short but this is suppose to be a "Go out on the town" device. Couple hours is what you get.

I certainly like to have it in my hand, I played with it for a couple hours (honest) the first night I got it.............MAN IT REALLY IS NICE!

I opted not to get the V3, and went ahead and pre-ordered the 18650. The reason is the way these things feel in your hand. I also have the V1 and I am looking for a device to perform like that.

I know for a fact the "P18" will not disappoint in looks or performance.

I am not talking down the V3, most reviews are excellent. Not as many problems as previous released devices.

Why should you get one??? Try something different if you don't like it send it back, or sell it here someone will gladly take it off your hands........ No Worries.

Devices and vaping in general really is a very subjective and personal choice. I own or have owned just about every popular device out there and some i really love and appreciate the work that went into them.

My goal with the Precise line was to create one of the finest crafted/machined devices that i could, yet at the same time, keep it as simple and reliable of a device as possible. Looks and feel of a device vary from person to person, so i can't give advice in that area, but i do feel from a personal standpoint, that my Precise line is my finest work yet.

I'll have a detailed video up shortly (hopefully tonight) of the Precise 16340 and 18650 in all it's glory!

David

somewhere out there......
I have a Super 6 and a precise 10440....the craftsmanship is phenomenal, cleaning connections is minimum at most just a few swipes with 1000 grit sandpaper and its performing like new takes 3 seconds per connector (2 total) well three if you count the atties center post but that takes a different cleaning method.

It will fire every single time with no worries of the device failing. So all in all this PV is simple, elegant and fully mechanical.

Like Grimm, I own a Super Six and a Precise 10440. They are both excellent. The Precise 16340 is on order. There are not many PV's out there that are machined to this standard. However, one thing you may want to consider is which atomizer type that you like. The Precise series uses 510 atomizers and they will require an adapter to 901 or 801. I believe that additional metal between battery and atomizer can cause complications in both air draw and voltage. That's been my experience, but I am sure that other people may have been luckier with adapters. If you like 510, grab one of these without question.

I was like you, stuck on whether or not to buy the 18650 precise or the V3, now the v3 is an exceptional deal price wise, you can't deny it and so far it seems to not have as many flaws as the previous models, that being said the precise 18650 is the smallest mod out there for 6 volts it's machined to such exact specifications that you can almost say it was divinely inspired. Also the v3 cap looks like the head of a penis, not that there's anything wrong with that....

I have an original T1 (one of my absolute favorites), 2 of the Super 6's (think they should still be in production), 2 of the Precise 10440's (whata great little go to dinner, conference, in a meeting machine) and a 16340 Precise on order.

I've had a lot of PV's and PS was one of my very first mods. I still have my original V1 and it (last time I used it) performs well but, the Super-T machines are carefree.
Very rarely do I clean or need to polish anything. I charge batts and fill carts.
They're classy mechanical works of art that perform better than anything else I've ever owned.
Customer service is as good as it gets but the best part is, you never need it.
There's nothing to break or wear. I've never seen arcing or shorting.. Nothing there to fail.
The adapter threads are stainless so, if I get a new cart that has tight threads it's not an issue. A couple of up and downs and it's ready to go.

Last but certainly not least.
David doesn't copy the designs of others, he's creative, forward looking and doesn't go start his own forum when customers have problems.

One year of not smoking? Great accomplishments deserve great rewards. I think you should give yourself all three! Congratulations TLC!:toast:
Susan

Thanks Susan! I never thought I would be able to quit after numerous failed attempts... but vaping did the trick! I'm pretty damn proud of myself!

I think I have it narrowed down to a Precise or the new Omega...I'm so bad at making decisions

Well I guess I might want to give some advice also. I have been collecting several mods over that last year (almost a year). I started with the SB and I still love its design. I know it is a tube and an electronic switch but it just always worked for me. I also have several others from that vendor. Even the new one I should get today. However, I have the S6 and Precise 10440 from Super T. I have also been waiting patiently for the new P16. Not to mention about 12 T-Tips.

The designs from David are truly a work of art. The best part is it is flawless in operation. The mechanical operation of this device works as long as your battery is charged. Also the way the Precise is designed to hold the battery there is almost no moment of the battery.

Now the most important part about MODS... IMHO
The customer service. Take a look at the posts on this forum. Every question is answered by David himself. Many of us may answer the questions about how to fix or tweek something but David will always chime in. Also if something goes wrong (Not that it would) David takes care of it. I wish every maker of MODS did the same. So I guess for me I would suggest getting one of the Precise line. Or like Mama said all three. It is your one year!!!! BTW I think you have narrowed your "wants" to the two best chooses.

I might have to start thinking about what to get for my one year... Hey David you can make a mod with Silver right????

Hello BrockJ, ABSOLUTELY!

As being a relatively new vaper (VAPE-A-HOLIC lol-lol) and a very OLD Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, I truly have the passion and years of experience with manufacturing Quality tools and products. In April 2010 was the very first time I viewed Davids creation (S6 and first Precise) after looking, reading and evaluating the seemingly countless offerings in this market. When my eyes first seen his products, my thoughts immediately said: This guy is not only highly creative, but truly skilled as a Machinist! For only those with the training and the personal passion becomes an Artist in the metal working trades. The simplistic design (less is more!) along with absolute precision jumped out at me! After personally speaking with David and the POSITIVE reviews of this forum, IS what sold me on ordering from him as a Pre-Order, placing 100% deposit down and then trying to keep my vaping fingers from going into spasms of uncontrolled anxiety waiting for the P18 to arrive and calm them!:D When my P18 does arrive and I can examine, fire it up, break it in and go for that 1000 mile ride is when the last 1% of my questions will be answered. But at this point, I really think they have been answered already! Not only by David, but those who truly know him already, the current satisfied customers/owners of what just may be the Finest in custom designed and precision built personal vaping devices.....EVER! :D

And this is ONLY the beginning of this story! :)
