im vaping @ 30-40watts, nice and cool, 50 and above gets warm, 80 and above gets too warm/hot
im ripping through 6x 18650s already a day, im a... serial vaper.... lolz.... i cant imagine vaping with tc at higher wattages... i need like 100 batteries

and.. never a dry hit yet.. so the only plus i gain from it is i can vape at higher wattages that gives me a cool vape like 30-40watts?

discuss, enlighten, ty

Maybe I am missing something as well but I am doing something right because I am not smoking. I may try TC when they get it figured out and it works with Kanthal. Until then I will just keep the coarse I am on. Been a long time for me since I had a dry hit so I am doing something right without TC. CHEERS!

yea i wana try it too, but at this moment, the only thing i can think of that will justify an upgrade is a. ability to modify settings and setup profiles (dna200) b. vape at higher wattages at low temperatures

honestly... i've been doing 30-40 all this time because it provides me a cool vape, plenty of vapor and flavor with my freemax starre, uses less battery as well, i cant imagine doing 50-200 TC all day, dont get me wrong, im not against TC, but i feel unless i am going over 50watts... thats when i will really need it for a. a cooler higher wattage vape b. no dry hits at a higher wattage vape

Temp control is imho much more then no dry hits. With TC properly setup you can take long nice drags of the same consisteny from first sec till you release button. You will never achieve that with VV or VW, those setups gradualy get hotter and hotter. For sure with pre heath being played out properly now it realy is a difference in my personal experience. But then again im a sucker for new stuff to, so it might be just between my ears, been awhile since i used anything else then TC.

what is your daily wattage and temperature settings

i take long drags too, not that hot as well, non-tc gives me very low chance of dry hits unless i take multiple long hits, tc will give me 0% chance to get dry hits

so am i safe to assume, TC is only important if you want to vape at higher settings without dry hits, because under 50watts... its not that hot really... warm at best

Im around 22 - 25 watts and at 420 to 450 degrees, mostly using tanks, rarely a dripper.
Maybe had 1 or 2 dryhits since i started vaping in the early months, do people realy get dryhits that often these days anyway?
The long nice drags you take you feel the temp going up gradualy the longer you take a drag if i remember right, for me that was one of the things i liked when made the switch, its the same hit from start to end when properly build (talking about a tank). I did try TC vaping bc it was something new, not because i was getting dryhits, after experienced it i realy enjoyed the way it vapes.

even in the days of 5 watt setups, getting a dry hit has always been an issue.

not recently, dry hits still exists, but the new tanks on markets now their a. juice holes are much bigger b. the coils are made better for higher wattages, compared to my atlantis days (dry hits every once a while) to my current freemax starre (no dry hits since day one), id say it improved a ton

so how would u describe a non-tc hit at the same wattage settings of 22-25?

I wont describe it as bad, its just different. A non-tc hit you feel the curve going up so from "weak" when you start to inhale then getting warmer and warmer (and better vaporizing, its not just the heath) up to the point that you are satisfied with the drag. This is bit blown up in words as we talking about a matter of seconds this all happens in but i dont know how else to explain wat difference i experience.

No, the purpose of the wattage in a TC mod is just to bring the coil up to the set temp -- once it does that, then it doesn't need too much wattage to keep it near that set temp.

I'm a total tootle puffer, but with my new Evic-VT, I'm enjoying a terrific vape at 35w, 380F, with my usual tight-draw Achilles, using a titanium coil which is .57Ω -- it's not hot, it's not harsh, it's just exactly right, and it stays that way until the well in the Achilles is dry. Once the wick starts drying out, you can taste the diff, and there is less, and thinner, vapor -- but no dry hit.

The only real difference I'm finding between this and my standard kanthal build in the same atty, is that titanium seems to take longer to break in, and get full flavor from, than kanthal.

Have u tried vaping at 35w with kanthal
Vs
Vaping with tc set at 35w @380F with ni

What difference is there that u could explain on the vape quality between the two

Well I've never used nickel, so I dunno about that.

As for kanthal... at 35w?? Good lord no!!! I use an Achilles, very very tight draw... usually between 8-9 watts. My usual coil is 1.7Ω.

The 35w in TC mode is *solely* to bring the coil up to 380F -- at which point, the temp control takes over so it doesn't get any hotter, so the watts drop. You can watch the temp, watts, and resistance fluctuating during the hit; I generally take long slow hits, about 4-6 seconds, gentle mouth-to-lung.
