So my Eleaf 60w TC starter kit arrived today which also came with the Melo 2 tank and some coil heads.

Im currently using the 0.15 ohm NI coil head.

Before buying a tc device i did some reading up and everywhere was saying how great the flavor is etc but im getting no flavor at all?! Ive tried vaping it between 300 all the way up to 500 degrees but temp protection kicks in almost straight away and while I get a small ish cloud of vapour I get no flavor at all?

I know its not my liquid because its the same juice i use in my other sub ohm tanks and it tastes amazing in them so i must be doing something wrong with this?

If it make a difference the battery im using is the purple efest 2100MAH battery

Thanks

At what wattage?

It's not always inherently obvious, but you can adjust the wattage while in temp control mode. Changing the temp just locks what temperature the device will let the wire get to. Once it gets to that temperature it'll stop applying power to prevent you from burning your wick.

Not sure what the combination of buttons is that you have to press though, pretty sure it should be the same for most YiHi chips (hold down the "select" button and then use up/down to adjust).

Guys what will settings for temperature will you recomend for the same device with Ti 0.5 ohm coil? And should i vape it on resistance lock?

It's important to lock in the base resistance of the coil while at room temperature. Not doing this will skew (or essentially render useless) all TC functions.

The temperature, much like wattage, is something you might wanna feel out. The max temperature you want to be vaporizing at (ie: much hotter than this = you're burning juice) is 480F (250C). I recommend starting at high ~300F and adjusting up until you're satisfied with the vape.

I don't actually use any TC devices, just going based on prior knowledge, but I'm sure someone who is versed on TC vapes will chime in soon.

I locked my resistance before i vaped, i think its just getting used to the temp lock and stuff, just put my DIY strawberry milkshake in vaping at 420 degrees and its tasting fairly good, ill have to have a sit down with it and learn it inside and out ill also try the other resistance coil heads with it, may be better with the 0,5 ohm coil had apposed to the 0,15 ohm

Aidan Vapes when you pot for first time the coil you had 420 degrees with what wattage? Cuz i stay at 300 degrees with 30W and i get no vapor at all and i have the resistance locked, i don't know what i'm doing wrong? It may be because of the battery to low??

Increase the temp to 400.

Also charge your battery, yeesh. That hurts to look at. Poor battery.

Eleaf doesn't use Yihi chips..

Huh, you're right.

But I think it's safe to say that whatever chip they're using is a "clone" of the YiHi chips. They have the same functionality, the screens are laid out the same (for most variations)..

.. And my point still stands, the OP needs to adjust the wattage while in TC mode.

Common error with the TC60's that @JohnnyMW5 seems to have avoided is that the mod defaults to 60W in TC mode. Dropping the wattage into the 25-45W range helps a great deal, though you do get a little lag as the coil ramps up to temp. There's nothing wrong with the mod going into Temp Protect mode - just means that it's doing what it should to regulate the coil temp. But running it at high wattage gets it there hella fast, and at 60W it will "porpoise" the power, making for a surging vape.
