I'd strongly recommend you to stay away from ni200. It has a high tcr, yes, but the low resistance and the softness of the material makes it difficult to work with. Ti01 is much better, and ss316 even more so.

I also have difficulty in wrapping ni200 coils

I could wrap them (used tempered ni200) but it was a hassle, and great care had to be put into installing the coils so that the legs wouldn't be cut by the post screws. I don't miss the ni200 days :)

For me it was the wicking I'd bend them up badly every time

Is it possible to use SSV's Ti wire with your mod? Those are my Ti wires of choice. I was using .5 all the time until I found SS 430, extremely consistent Ti wire.

They have their own TFR curves/csv's for each wire so that's how I use it on all my mods, but perhaps it's possible to use it on a regular Ti TFR curve.

SSV Ti is basically overpriced ti02. The bs SSV spout about their wire doesn't change that. I'm sure it works good, but personally I don't like it when companies try to deceive their customers.

i would give some SS316L a second try, i like 28g fused claptons despite the slightly longer ramp up, the wire is more sturdy... tho if i am going for something with quicker ramp up i use the 28g SS, i just have to be a bit more careful when rewicking.

I don't think he can offset for 316L with Ni200 or Ti settings... I could be wrong though.

They don't lie about that, it's kind of like people paying for rebranded kogendo pads. The difference is they have a specific TFR curve and downloadable profile for each wire type and guage they sell, and they're spot on. I wish more companies would do that.

In a market where there's a million companies selling Ti wire that helps to eliminate confusion.

I agree. Doubtful that it'll work.

They used to lie their behinds off, claiming that they're wire was processed in some mystico-scientific process that made it better than ti01. Metallurgists here shot down that nonsense (I think the discussion is in the "Beyond ni200" thread, but I could be wrong).

hmm, I never heard of that, but I kind of heard about it by accident... Back before I tried SS and was only using Ti I got a bag of it from a freind who was switching to NiFe52 and I went on their website to get some more, that's where I found the profiles and temp curves... I just thought it was really cool that they did that.

But going by the range of resistivity, they all differ a little bit from the Ti ones on steam engine. Not saying it's a different material, just an observation, in fact I haven't used their Ti wire in a while.
