No wait, there was one quit attempt where I ended up switching from menthols to non-menthols because I figured I wouldn't smoke many of those; I mean they tasted like dirt! Guess what happend? Yep, a few weeks later I was back to smoking just as many non-menthols as menthols previously, and I never went back to menthols.

I once identified as far left until I saw the results of that stuff. Now I'm far nothingness.
Best sentence(s) of da YEAR!!!!!!!

And, it took you all those words to say you couldn't answer my question. LOL.
I lurk a lot now, cause the fun is gone. Not sure why @Katdarling is about as present as I, but I miss you folks and the fun days.

Welp, NY, he IS "The Sesquipedalian", and YES, DpL, I would have posted that pic! :D

She, of Katdarlingness, is not all that present for much of the same reasons you guys have mentioned. Add to that, we vape PROOFED starting in 2014. NO MORE mods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a shame to see how much the activity has dwindled down here. It used to be a very active and vibrant site.

I think at least some of that is due to the fact that a significant percentage of devices are now basically variations of the same thing. Back then, ECF was THE knowledge hub, as there were so many options that we all came here to figure out what was what.

We shared knowledge, argued about stupid stuff, stood for whatever silly thing it was that we felt & believed at the time, and in many cases, laughed our rear-ends off.

It was a combination of community center, university, and boxing ring; all rolled up into one awesome and amazing thing. There were things to discuss intelligently, and things to fight about (sometimes/often even UN-intelligently).

- Mechs vs. Regulated
- Watts vs. Volts ("Volts taste better!")
- Blister-pack Coils vs. Rebuildables
- Temp Control vs. Non
- Provari vs. Darwin vs. Reo vs. ...
:headbang:

Now, it feels like it's basically about which color & flavor combo to choose. I know I'm oversimplifying, but y'all know what I mean.

All that said, I do also realize that, in the time it took me to write this, seven new SbS mods and nine new Boro mods hit the market. Again though (and sadly), they're still all just new twists in old drink recipes.

I agree. It’s just a new color or move or add a button at this point. The pod and disposable era is getting rather tiresome. Writing reviews used to be a lot of fun and interesting but now with so many pods it’s just like I’m repeating myself a lot. I do get some mods and tanks which is the only reason I still do reviews.

Yeah, disposables in the form-factor in your picture is pretty much all I see people using these days out in the wild.

And then I see articles in the media lamenting all the "waste" that vaping generates.

Meanwhile, the waste my vaping generates consists of a small tuft of cellulose wicking about once a month, a tiny coil of wire about once a year, and a couple of 18650 batteries every few years. The latter go to Home Depot for recycling.

Of course the media never once considered that their agitating against vaping and for stringent regulations over the last 10+ years is the reason that it generates so much waste. They shape public opinion, which in turn influences the politicians and the bureaucrats.

I never got the disposables. Tossing out a device because of a dead battery and/or running out of juice seems crazy.
I think they were originally thought of as a transition device for smokers to try to see if they could take to vaping but what it has turned into is insane. There are tons of new ones on the market every day.

Heck, I thought tossing out Pro-Tank coils was wasteful and was rebuilding them early on. I quickly concluded that was silly. They were a poor choice rebuilding due to the resistance wire being in contact with the grommets, which gave them a burnt-plastic taste after a couple of rebuilds. I think some folks mitigated that with N-R-N wire, but that was more trouble than it was worth when there were atties available that were designed to be rebuilt.

Not surprising since they're all technically illegal. You'll see enforcement against a manufacturer. They'll close their company, re-brand, and perhaps make some minor changes to the product. Then they'll be back. My prediction: It will be a very long-lasting game of Whack-a-Mole.

I vaped and smoked from 2011. Just hit five years cigarette free last July.
Juul worked for me - that and being diagnosed with emphysema, unfortunately. I should have switched years before I did :( After a years of Juul, just made the switch to a pod device. I loved Juul, but the cost was outrageous, compared to buying juice for a refillable pod device.

I do agree with this and most all subsequent posts.
But, bartender, please pour me another Argentinian Guava when you have a chance.
