I bought the kit that comes with 4 cells, and the charger
When no batteries are in, the light is green (normal)
When batteries are charging, the light is bright red (normal)
When they are charged, even overnight, the light goes from red, to a lighter color red, almost orange (not normal). It says the light should turn green when charged.
Has anyone experienced this? The batteries seem to be charging fine, but the darn light never turns green till I take the cells out.
Should I just go ahead and use it? I dont feel like sending it back, cause it took forever to get, but will if you think its unsafe. Ideas?

(Uncharged to fully charged) red, light red, orange, green. When the charger turns orange it takes about another half hour for the light to go from orange to green. According to your charger your batteries seem to be charging to about 4/5 of their potential if the chargers light is working correctly. Either the charger light is not working properly or maybe your batteries’ cutoff-switches are activating a bit prematurely. I would guess if you have a few pairs of batteries and all your pairs are showing orange in the charger, then I would guess that the light in your charger is not calibrated correctly and your batteries are fully charged when the light is orange.

My batteries go trough the same process, except my light actually turns green....Half way trough the charge the light turns orange like color, then little by little, the color turns green...As a matter of fact, sometimes when i look at the charger it looks like half orange and half green, but i just leave them on till the light goes completely green....

The blue batts suck. They have a built in circuit protection that trips all the time. I never got them to work at all on the SB.

They might work with a HV atty though.

Hmmm, strange. They work in my SB fine. I did hear they will trip on the DBDB every time though.

I made the mistake of buying six of the blue ones. They will only work for me if I ONLY charge them for a few hours...I learned the hard way by following the manual and letting them charge till the light was green, when I do that they won't work. The dbsb is the same way...except it will not perform period! I am yet once again going to buy another set of attys (hv 510) or should I just buy new batteries???? I am hoping this will do it? I am crying inside for my stupid battery purchase.

Thanks. I only have one set of the blue ones because i got them from battery-junction and the other 2 were DOA. This was right before their fire so I am still with one set and not having any luck at all. Anyone have experience with the AW 123's? Are they a higher quality battery than the yellow tenergys? Everytime I use my 510 it "sizzles" for 1-3 seconds and just shuts off...

That's a protection circuit built in. The 510 atty is lower resistance so it is tripping the circuit by drawing too much current. Try the yellow tenergys (can find them cheap on Amazon) or maybe the LifePo4s on DX.

Just make sure you don't get a pair or 3.7v batts! Unless you're running HV atties that is.
