Just took delivery of my oddy clone yesterday from OKC.
Been getting off and on leaks and gurgling all day yesterday.

It vaped great for awhile now it started leaking and gurgling again... I closely inspected everything and noticed a long hairline crack that extends from the mouthpiece tip and extends down pretty far. :(

Here you can see it at the bottom

In this pic you can see it at the top and along the inside as well. Looks like the tooling used was dull and some galling so it must of heated the piece up pretty bad and caused the crack.

Family pic for the h### of it.

So... do you guys think I should contact the vendor about this? Obviously this isn't good and wonder if this is where my leaking and gurgling problems are stemming from? Theres noway I could see this damage being done from shipping and I haven't dropped it or caused it. I just hope I dont have to send the whole unit back because I spent an hour or two cleaning the disassembled parts before putting it together.

Yes, contact them. I wouldn't accept a brand new atty that was cracked in any way. It's not in "as new" condition. Might be acceptable in a classified purchase if it was mentioned, but not when you paid for new.

There's really no need to spend two hours (!) cleaning an atty like this. I fill a coffee cup containing all the disassembled parts with hot water and Dawn dish liquid and let it soak for maybe 15 minutes, rinse everything thoroughly, fire the ceramic over the stove burner (not strictly necessary but I do it anyway) for a few seconds, assemble and vape. Dish soap cuts grease and oil very effectively.

Ya- I contacted them about the issue and left a link to this post for picture proof.
I know the time I spent on cleaning wasn't necessarily required, Ive just worked around machine shops and done a little myself and know how nasty cutting and machining fluids can be so used a toothbrush and got a little OCD about it :)
