Terrible experience with my 1st ever DNA20D DIY Mod

Hi all, new to this forum here but definitely not new to the vaping world

I am hoping someone here will be able to help me...

Built my 1st DNA20D box mod over the weekend and after a few days... THIS HAPPENED:



Basically the adhesive that holds the ribbon wire to the OLED somehow melted. There was melted glue on the contact points when it detached inside the box. I already contacted Evolv and they will replace it for me. However, due to my geographic location, it will take a month and 20USD to send it back to Evolv. So here I am, trying to look for a way to reconnect these two parts back together.

It did not break and the contacts are all in superb condition. However, I never worked with these type of connectors before and have absolutely no idea how to proceed. Hoping someone here will be able to shed some light to my predicament

I do not know aboutt this, and i am sorry this happened. But from what happened it seems that this product is defective. I would send it back while it is still under warranty for safety or if it becomes unrepairable in the future.

Just checked with others... apparently 6 out of 100 devices from the bulk purchase are faulty so we had already arranged for warranty with Evolv. Great chaps over there! They are extremely helpful and friendly. Now for the long wait...

Going to try to solder these back together using fine pitch soldering head... wish me luck!

dont do it , you may void the warranty, and thet look to small to solder anyway

Hm... I just fired an Email to evolv asking if I can try to fix it myself before sending it back since I got the tools necessary to do it. Let's see what's their response.
