You're best bet is to look for sample packs offered by various vendors. Or - if you just want to try a bunch of different juices to get an idea what you like - go to a B&M store that has a sample bar.

Like with many things, e-liquids are much more economical to buy in larger packages. A 10mL size bottle of juice costs almost as much to produce as the 30mL size. The only difference is the actual amount of e-liquid and (perhaps) the slightly reduced cost of a smaller bottle. But it still takes someone the same amount of time to process/label/package it and that's where the main costs come in.
