It's very amazing Salem. I believe geese do the same. I'm thinking of getting a bird bath. Seems I read somewhere the hummers like them.

TT, there is no such thing as a Tangerine Buzz lol They are Copper!
We have lots of butterflies in this area too. Much more than what we had on the coast. I would imagine that in your area the rain does have soemthing to do with it. I remember reading last fall how rough the hummingbirds were having it trying to find food there in TX before migrating to South America. There were no flowers because the drought was so bad

But copper it can be - a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
They like spritzing water, showers if you will. A bird bath with a fine sprayer is a mecca to them as are the feeders...

Pokey i finally finished vaping the tankful with the phoenix installed in it, the leaking slowed a tad but took apart and put part of original sleeve almost to wick area and reinserted back into the grommet and so far no leaks.
It vapes excellent for me.
Still will eventually get a bottom cap tank with a permanent 510 connection for ease of use but for now this will do just fine .

I have baths, feeders, houses, you name it for just about every bird in my area lol We bought this property because there is a large pond on it and we lived on a lake on the coast. We love waterfowl too. Unfortunately, our pond has a leak in the dam. It needs to be recored.
I do too, Fran. Have fed and read about them for years...and noted, as Salem mentioned, how they do return from year to year. I have recognized a few by their singular "imperfections" and am always happy to see them.
I used to participate in the tracking of their return each spring - a website that documented their migration upward from South America to here and all the way to Canada.
Only the Ruby-throats here, though. So many amazing species around the country, the world, though. They are all incredible and amazing little creatures for certain.
I have a very shallow bird bath hanging from the tree close to a feeder and the hummers love it. I also run my sprinkler into some of my bird baths during the hottest days of the summer and the hummers and butterflies like to fly through the mist.
Hummingbirds will take baths on the water that accumulates on the leaves from rain.
