Dies, we have parallels! As a kid in middle school and junior high, I'd peddle my bike like crazy after school from Maywood to Bellwood to sell newspapers at Jefferson Electric when the shift changed.
Later worked in a pizzeria in Oak Park. Thin crust pizza and meatball and sausage sandwiches, but no Italian Beef. Also Old Town West, where we did deep dish pizza, and Otto's in Forest Park.
Had a girlfriend named Phyllis. She lived in Berwyn about two blocks from Salerno's, still my favorite pizzeria although they've moved to Roosevelt road near Harlem.
Very true and if I did not have my Original Buzz's and my BPs I might consider it. They are workhorses and a better value IMHO
Good grief! I just caught the cost of 3 cartons of cigs. They are still $30 a carton in my area but I know that everything cost more in Florida.
Geez, if they went up to $60 per carton here, maybe my mom would give quitting another shot.

LOL! If it's made right, it'll barely survive from the kitchen to the car before the bread disintegrates.
In that case they will just have to go two days in a row. They have family there so maybe they will be there a few days.

LOL, we just got back from the lake. Some of the kids are coming in for Mothers Day so we went out to eat hot dogs and help kids with their rods and reels for a while.
salem, I like your style of cooking!! Hot Italian sausage is great with just about anything. That Luke's sounds sooo good!! I can't wait to get there. My wife has an intense dislike for Italian sausage but we'll fix her up with the wet beef and then the second day we go back there we can have different things and on the third day .... you guys are right. I might just as well move back there. The thing is, you really don't know how much I'd like to move back there. But I guess I'm stuck in Yeast Texas where I can spend the rest of my life mowing.
We didn't get any rain today ... had a little last night though. So I was able to get a lot of little jobs out of the way today. In fact, I'm kind of impressed with me and how much I did. I'm going to have to quit working so hard or I'm going to ruin my reputation.

Looks like you and I are both stuck, TT At least for awhile. I want to move back to the coast to be near my son and GS so bad that I can barely stand it. Our GS has been asking his dad for weeks now to come and see his Monna and his Poppa. We get to see him often now, but once he starts school that is going to change

BTW- My dad was Italian ( dad that raised me and truly is my dad) and he and my mom are both New Yorkers. So, I was raised on Polish, Irish and mostly Italian food

Oh well, I guess there are worse places than East Texas. LOL, one of my little grandson's (they call him AJ) just can't walk by me without stopping to give me a hug and to tell me he loves me. Never have seen a kid like him.
And I wanted to tell you, everyone was commenting on the smell of the Yellow Cake Batter that I was vaping. Even AJ!!
And you ought to see this little guy cast a worm with his fishing pole. This kid is amazing with a rod and reel!!
It sure is fun to be around them and that's how I know you are going to have a great time with your grandson salem.

My GS is very sweet and lovable like that too. My son has been very nurturing with him. My son has to work so can't come for the week, but I guarantee you that he will be on the phone several times a day. That child is his whole world
Before GS could even speak, we met my son to pick up GS and bring him to our house. Well, DH was putting his carseat in my car so his dad held him while DH was doing that. GS pitched a bloody fit letting us know that he wanted in my car instead of going home with dad lol It broke my sons heart and I don't think he will ever forget that.

Of course now that he talks, by the time we go to meet my son to take him home, he is so ready to see his dad that he can barely stand it. Last time, my son was running on his time which means late lol and GS kept looking out the window of the restaurant telling me, maybe he is not coming Monna.
My son was only about 10 minutes late but if you could have seen theose two hug when he got there you would have thought they had been apart for weeks lol
