This pic is coming into Silver City from the north. Its a nice town snuggled mostly in a valley and surrounded by the Gila Wilderness, Big Burro mountains and Little Burro mountains. The elevation of the town is 6,500 feet, very clean air and because of the elevation they actually have four seasons.

This link will take you to my PhotoBucket page and pertains to various desert flowers we have found in bloom.

I think all my purty lady friends will like this one.

SNAKE

Damn it,,,
I went out to see if I had a 2x4 stacked up by my shed only to find a sneaky snake. Scared the crap out of me.
I dug out most of the pile of keep it stuff I had stacked up there but never did get him. So I'm sure he will scare the crap out of me again.

(and I still didn't get the 2x4)

LOL, Gummy. That reminds me of the time I went out to change the water in my baby swimming pool that I used for my ducks. We lived right on a lake that was full of gators so my ducks knew better than to get in the water in the summer. Anyway, I lifted it to dump it and there was a water moccasin laid up under it. I threw the hose and went screaming through the yard. The neighbor came out of his house to see what was going on lol I am sure that it was quite a sight to see.

When I was about 10 years old I climbed up in this little tree to have a look inside a bird's nest. I couldn't quite reach the nest from the limb my feet were on so I grabbed a hold of the limb the nest was on and bent it down to have a look. Yes, you guessed it, Much to my surprise there was a snake in the nest not bird's eggs. My face was only about 4 inches from it, I let go the limb rather suddenly, and fell out the tree landing flat on my back. It was about this time that the catapulted snake landed on my chest.

Needless to say I squealed like a girl. The snake went one way and I went the other at a very high rate of speed.

LOL, Gummy! I knew what you were going to say. We have black snakes around here that like to hang out in the trees. I have been surprised by them a time or two while filling my bird feeders. I am actually not that afraid of them anymore. Unless they are poisonous. Everything has a purpose and a place in life.
