(((TT))) I am glad to see you here! I am having trouble with my net connection. My ISP was supposed to be here this afternoon to check it out but had to reschedule for the morning.

Either ECF is crawling at a snails pace, or my connection is getting ready to go down again :(

I wanted to post this for you while I am able to though

LOL, salem, I would never turn down a good hug. I love hugs. One of the best things in life.

Yeah guys, we're home and back to the near 100 degree temperatures and 100 % humidity. It was hot, but dry out in New Mexico and Arizona and I loved it.

The little earthquakes I told you about (eight all together) knocked a few things off shelves in our house and the only broken item was my grandfathers mustache shaving cup. Completely smashed.

We always turn the water to the house off at the well when we leave and it was a good thing we do. The pipes at the top of the hot water heater (which is in the upstairs bathroom) broke and when we turned the water back on it made a little mess but at least the house didn't get flooded. That would have been serious.

We have electricity and everything else - except water. Honey girl got to looking in the pump house and noticed a faucet that is behind the valve that opens to send water to the house I'd never seen it or if I had, I never thought about it.

So we ran a hose from that faucet to the travel trailer and now we can use the bathroom, shower and wash dishes in the travel trailer. We have bottled water for drinking and cooking.

We could have gone to the lake house to shower, etc., but its really a pain to do that. I was soooo proud of honey girl for noticing that faucet and thinking it out to where we could run water to the trailer. I must have told her twenty times how proud I was of her and I meant it.

Yeah, we lost our dear friend Alice to lung cancer. She never was in any pain and finally closed her eyes and went to sleep and a short time later she was gone. It was a very peaceful end for a fine lady and she'll be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. It was really nice that all of her family was there to be with her, even a boy that wasn't hers, but that she raised anyhow. He's now my son-in-law and I couldn't have hand picked a better man.

All of us guys are making plans for the appropriate time to keep her husband as busy as we can - within reason. He's about 77 years old and has always been a hard worker and loves to do things out of doors. He's the man I've told you about who only wears shoes to church. That's about the only time. He loves to fish and lives on the lake where we have the lake houses, so he'll be having plenty to do ... at least in the day time and a lot of us will wear him out in the evenings.

Honey girl has gone out to the trailer to fix dinner and she said that if I wanted some of it I had better "c'mon" so I'd better get off here for a while.

Lubs to all of you and thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts for our dear Alice.

sorry to hear about your dear friend TT. Glad to hear you will stay involved in the husbands life. He needs close friends right now and a lot of times in this situation, people tend to back off a little.

I have heard about the heat in Texas! My wife is there now visiting my oldest daughter and her family! She said it is warm!

I am home alone this week! My wife, youngest daughter and grand daughter went to Texas and my middle daughter, she is the mother to the grand daughter, is at a nerd convention in California! She is really into science and her job paid for her to go to this convention that attracts some of the brightest minds in Physics! She will actually be speaking to these people later in the week.

I call her a nerd, but she knows how proud I am and she knows this is a term of endearment!

Happy to hear of the AG homecoming Salem! I am sure he is very happy today!

I am very thankful for his service to our country!

Good morning everybody and FranC, you're up early today! Isn't it great to get up while its still dark out knowing you don't have to gulp down some coffee and rush to get dressed and be out the door to go to work? LOL, you can even go back to bed if you want to! Sometimes I think that if I lived up in town that in the mornings I would stand out in my front yard with a cup of coffee and point at all my neighbors going to work and just laugh and laugh and laugh!

Probably get my ... shot.

Hey, thanks everyone for all the kind words, nice thoughts and prayers for our friend who passed away. I'll tell you, if you had known this gal there is no doubt in my mind that you would have loved her too. Sometimes I wonder if this is the right place to share this kind of information, but you guys are close friends of mine too and I know when something happens in my life that is important to me I can tell you about it and you'll understand why I'm doing it. Just as I do when you have to unload a little bit. But I love you for being here for me. Thank you.

Wow, I have so much I need to do. Lots of mowing to get after, the travel trailer needs to be washed, I had one of my 4 wheelers in the shop and I need to go pick it up and take in another one, I really need to go fishing, just a ton of things to do. I suppose I need to make a list and prioritize all this ... okay, let's see, I'll start with going fishing ...

I know some of you live in big cities and you know those cities and know your way around and are used to the traffic and stuff and make it just fine. On the way home we went through Austin, Texas and I figured it was no sweat because it was late at night and pulling the trailer through there wouldn't be any problem and besides, going that way would let me avoid Fort Worth/Dallas completely.

What a freakin' mess!! Even late on a Sunday night there was a lot of traffic and that city just goes on and on and on. Actually, I guess its a lot of cities that have all grown into one big one. I know I'm just spoiled because back in my working days I drove in places like Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Riyadh and Jeddah, London and lots of others and never thought twice about it.

That driving adventure through Austin sure makes me appreciate living out in the country away from traffic and all the insanity. Whew!

We really had a great time on our little trip though. We got to see some fantastically beautiful places in Arizona and New Mexico and the dry air out that way was a joy. Honey girl got to do more of her rock hounding and exploring and it was a restful time for her. Everything on the trailer worked perfectly, and all in all it just couldn't have been a better trip.

Well, I guess you need to get out there and get into your little yellow Perogi's and get to work so you can find a decent parking place. Have a fun day at work and think about me out here fishing and mowing and really staying busy.
