My sister still smokes and she and her DH are all over the country. She tells me about the prices out there. Right now, you can still get a decent pack of cigs for about $3 and some change in my area.
I remember when the price went from $7.50 per carton to $10 DH and I both said that one more price increase and we would quit. It is amazing how much we just kept paying for the nasty things.

I remember the good 'ol days when I would go to a gas station with a $20 bill. Half of it filled my tank with gas and the other half for a carton of smokes! Good for a week before I needed to find another $20 bill!
I remember when my oldest sister got her license and would use her lunch money for gas lol 50 cents went a very long way.
When I first left Ohio, cigs were 50 cents per pack there and they were 25 cents per pack here in the south.
