I know that you can. It has only been a few days for you. We did not have pets for years because we could not handle the loss. We rescued an African Grey parrot that stole our hearts after researching and finding that she should have outlived us. That didn't happen. She passed away 4 years ago and I still cry when I think of her. It is like it happened yesterday

We decided years ago we wouldn't have another one after Buddie.

She was 12, almost 13, and should have lived a few more years. Took her to the Vet and things snowballed into a nightmare.
I've told the story once to DH and that is it. He relays it as best as he can. It was a horrible and sad ending but putting it off would have been worse for her.
