TF-T1 not producing vapor

Hello all you mad vapers I'm new to the site and relatively new to vaping as well. I was smoking cigarettes but have quit since I started vaping. I just purchased a Smok TfV4 mini tank with a Sigelei 213W Fuchai TC. The TF-T1 coil I put in is not producing much vapor after a couple of puffs. It states that the minimum temp is 450 for this type coil but I had to lower the temp to get vapor that lasts more than a few hits. I primed the coil well, let it stand for 15 minutes before taking first hit. I set the box to T1 mode, set to low temp, set ohm and then took first drag. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any info:)

Hello all just wanted to let you know I was burning my coils thinking it was set at a lower watt and that is why it was not producing vapor. I feel silly but oh well it was my first temp control coil in this mod. I now have a TF-STC2 and it works beautifully:) Thank you everyone:)

howdy! and welcome!

first off, i have the sig213 and love it, but only use it in power mode - have heard a lot of chatter/ static about the TC mode (and to be honest, from what i have read, it does work but is set up differently than most TC algorithms)

when you say 'to get vapor that lasts more than a few hits' are you referring to going through juice quickly?

i was not really impressed, personally, with the Ti coils on the TFV4, would personally recommend the SS coils - then you can run them in either TC or power mode

Hi DC thank you so much for responding!! I am referring to the amount of vapor that I blow out. It is good for about 5 puffs but after that hardly any comes out. I hope that made sense. I love this mod and did fine with the coil that came with it.
agreed - i love my sig 213 :)

keep in mind, TC works by measuring change in resistance as coil wire heats up and cutting power when the set temp is reached - if you are chain vaping (5 puffs in a row) coil is likely staying hot and power getting cut...

what temp did you have it set on when that was happening?

and what was the coil that came with it?

Hi steve could you possibly elaborate on what exactly that means?

It sounds like you are evaporating the e-Liquid that is getting to the coils before the wick can draw enough liquid in for the next puff. Do you chain vape? Are you vaping at too high a power level? What is the VG/PG Ratio of your e-Liquid?

Good Luck

I had the temp at 450 when that was happening and the tank came with a TF-T3. I may have been chain vaping to cause the coil to get too hot? Have you ever tried the TF-STC2 dual ss coil?

Thanks Steve:) I may have been chain vaping now that I think about it. I vape at 450 and I cannot find the VG/PG ratio on my bottle but I normally use a 30/70.

these are one of my personal fave coils in that tank - ss dual coil - can use in TC or power (i tend to prefer power modes - my personal experience with TC is that it is primarily for a 'safety' in case you forget to check/ refill tank - i am a little on the ocd side, so i tend to make sure i have juice in tank - and with the tfv4 top fill, it's easy enough to top it off)

gotcha - the T3 is a kanthal coil (not for TC) but works well, especially in the 50-90 watt range and produces a ton of vapor (and drinks a good bit of juice)... comparing that to a TC coil may be part of the context issue - in general, TC mode/ usage will not produce quite the amount of vapor as a straight power mode, as the TC function causes the power to cut off when the coil hits 'temp limit'

That makes sense and I believe I am chain vaping to cause this issue. Thanks!!

Great!! The people at the vape shop told me that the STC2 would not work in temp control. I just ordered tw0 packs of these so I thank you for your response:)

one other thing you may want to look at - if you are chain vaping and just making the jump from cigs, may want to look at nic level you are using - what is nic level on your juice?
