Hello all, so I currently use a tpriv with the tfv8 cloud beast I normally use wattages of about 150-160, I'm also about to upgrade to the tpriv 3 which goes up to 300 and it comes with the prince atomizer, I really like how the tank has a 8ml tank but dislike the low wattage of it, I was thinking about ordering the tfv12 king for the high wattage but I'm put off on the smaller ml capacity, can anyone help me out with a good recommendation, thanks

I prefer the prince over the king, the king has no flavor unlike the prince or the 8. I wouldn't recommend running any triple 18650 device at 300 watts, you're pushing close to 40 amps through an 18650. Even with a Samsung HB6 your' going to reduce the life of the batteries, with a 20 amp cell you're at the minimum going to ruin the lifetime of the cell and worst case scenario go into venting.

Iirc those big coils were designed for the single purpose of competition cloud chasing and they were designed to be used with a specific SMOK 4 battery mod. For regular vaping they’re nearly useless.

You can get better tanks from other manufacturers so neither would be my advice.

Also.... I'd advise you to uh, slow down a bit. Maybe that's just me though. I do think there is a thread out there somewhere about gigantic capacity tanks, and I'm fairly sure some of them have low resistance coils.

You'll never get 300w out of that device. Maybe on the first hit but after that, everything goes downhill, no matter what the screen says you set the wattage at. I had a tpriv and a tfv12 king. Both collecting dust now because smok is junk. Youll get better use out of rebuildables . Better performance. But...if you like the convenience of a drop in coil head, the falcon mesh by horizontech is a real winner as far as flavor is concerned. And my voopoo drag is coming up on one year of daily use and still going strong, unlike my tpriv which died at the tender age of 7 months.

Coyote, I've had the tpriv for over a year now been using 140+ watt the whole time and it's still running great, only reason I wanna get the tpriv 3 is for the 3rd battery, I'll still only go to maybe 200 max, the extra battery life will be awesome, I'm just undecided on the tank to use the tfv8 was great but im wanting to try something different

The falcon nesh will work nicely but they dont handle high wattage. 80w max on the M2 coil. I usually run mine at 65 to 70 watts. Nice thick flavorful clouds, fairly warm vape. Just all around nice. I used to vape at 130+ watts but eventually discovered there is no real advantage to it.

Why do you dislike low wattage? If you’ve got a VV mod watts is just a New York neighborhood

You're missing the point.

Smok saying the mod can go to 200W is like if I told you I can run with my feet at 122mph.

What you don't know is that 122mph is a human's terminal velocity while free falling in the sky. Sure, I can jump out a plane and wiggle my legs and claim i'm running at 122mph, but on the ground there's no way i'm jogging at that speed.

200W is not realistic. You can select it on the screen but you're not actually getting 200W.

Plus, putting all of that aside, you can get more clouds and flavour at half the wattage output using proper equipment.

Smok hits lower resistances by using multiple small coils:

This will never perform the same as robust coils that can actually handle that kind of wattage without needing 6 of them to split up the power:

@vVStarlord – don’t be fooled by marketing claims. The T-Priv max wattage can only be accomplished under certain circumstances and even then, that max wattage will only be for an extremely short duration before the device starts to scale back or even possibly display a low battery error. No device can create power out of nothing and you will always be limited by what the cell (battery) is able to produce. If you have doubts about this, have a look at DJLsb YouTube videos where he conducts objective measurements on the devices under review.

This is not just with Smok products but with almost all high powered devices.

I’d also think twice about using any drop in coil head at extreme wattages. The higher the wattage, the quicker the juice burns and at high wattages you risk vaporizing the juice quicker than it can be wicked which could lead to igniting the cotton on fire.

If high wattage vaping is your preference, I’d seriously consider using a dual coil (or more) RDA . I’d also brush up on your battery safety – Mooch’s YouTube videos are an excellent source. Below video explains the needed CDR for regulated devices.
