A coil has a resistance which in turn will require a specific balance of amps and volts. The chip detects the resistance and calculates these values based on the wattage you select.
I have heard of a device that allows you to manually virtually "adjust" the resistance, but I cannot think of any reason why you would want to do this.
I'm not intimate with the controls on your mod, but I would say that it was highly advisable to use the resistance that it detects as the true resistance of the coil and not change it.

For Kanthal use power mode.

These are all materials to use in temperature control mode
SS - Stainless Steel
NI - Nickel 200
TI - Titanium

TCR - Temperature coefficient of resistance.
This is a way to manually tweak the TC settings for the above materials
