Hello all!
As I have both full and mini size TFV4 I have acquired some coils for them. Did a search here but could not find any good thread/discussions for all the coils available. So I thought, why not create one dedicated to TFV4 coils.

There are 15, yes 15 coil types for the TFV4 tanks.
TFV4 Big Family - SMOK® Being with you for all great vaping time!

So far, I have used a few of the coils, especially T3 and Q4. I like them both but think I would rate Q4 better as the tank is not getting that hot so fast.
Did use the T2 and CLP2 but both of them did not produce enough vapor/flavor so I ditched them.
Have the S6 coil but not yet tried it.
Also have the R2 RBA but not yet built Ni coil for it.
Just ordered the new T4 and R3

Wondering if any of you tried the R3 RBA? It has an innovative deck for 3 coils and I am thinking either clapton or nickel.

How long did the T3 and Q4 coils last for you? I have had my T3 past the 150 ml mark using at 60W with Max VG. FOr the Q4 I am presently using it nearing the 100ml mark at 70W with max VG.

I've used the R1 and R2. Generally I stick with the R1's. You'll want to use thin Ti, SS or NiFe (or very thin Ni200) for the dual.

Frankly, I could not see the point for the R2 as the R1 performs well enough for my needs.

How and what do you build your coils for R1?

Is 30GA thin for Ni200 in your definition?

I did a build on another RBA dual coil 30GA Ni200 2.5mm dia around 11 wraps. Got it to .11 ohm and vapes just great.
Was thinking of 28GA (on the way) and do 3.0 mm dia with around 8-9 wraps for the R2.

I own 28-32awg Ni200. Dual 28awg needs to many wraps and makes to low of a resistance for my needs. 30&32awg can be a pita to wick but IMHO worth it for the resistance. 10-12 wraps Ni200 is doable, I generally wrap @ 2.5mm, any larger and the wick has to much mass for the thin wire to overcome and requires to much power.

While I started using SS430 with my R1's I'm now using NiFe48. My SS430 builds were pushing 1.0 ohm and higher. I'm currently using 4-6 wraps of 26-28 (forget which spool I used) Nife48.

Frankly, I've never used any of the 'stock' coils that came with the tanks. While I have yet to simply toss them they are bound for the trash soon.

I have mainly used one T3 And the rest Q4. I like the Q4 the best. I am currently at 420 ml. Running between 80 and 100 watts on day 21.
    And still going strong.

    Wow! 420ml!
Seem I am in for a long haul before I can switch and try other coils. LOL

But,...... that tells us the longevity offsets the high price big time. Does it not?

BTW, I just ordered a 5 pack of Q4 coils from Gearbest for 11 bucks something. Not bad! In that same order, included the T4 and R3 for just 10 bucks.

does that total include the new TFV4 Micro coils? At least 4 of them I think.

Oh no, I did not account for the new TFV4 micro coils..... If I am correct, those are not compatible in TFV4's. If people wants it brought up here, that should be fine but might be confusing since it is not the same as the full size and mini size TFV4.

However, I just saw there are 7 coil variations of the micro TFV4.

So 22 different TFV4 coils. And I do not think the micros will interchange either. shorter I think.

I have a TFV4 mini on the way. Won it. think I will likely use the RBA type head for it...
If they were interchangeable, why create more coils..... And, if not interchangeable, the number of coils would be 15 for TFV4 and 7 for micro.

Congrats on your win and I believe you will be happy with this one, especially the toip fill feature.

BTW, there are 4 RBA's for TFV4. R3 (newest) lets you make a tricoil build. R2 is dual coil. R1 is single coil and RCA is four post single clapton.
Which TFV4 tank are you expecting? The full kit includes R1. Simple kit has no RBA. Mini kit includes RCA.

Also have a TFV4-mini on the way and thinking my Dual deck will land there. I like the Idea of a lower power Top fill tank for daily use.
My X Cube II/TFV4 tends to be a Fog machine so I don't use it a lot with a house full of people. Politeness first.
Haven't considered expanding the coil collection yet since I realized how long these coils last. I Pulled the New Tri-coil from the TFV4 and installed my first Quad-coil and it is still working like a champ some 80ml later.
With 4 Tri-coils and 5 Q4's it will be a while before needing anything else.;)

    DARN!
Might have to just trade the thing off.
this is more confusin than kayfuns.

    A 4 post single Clapton?
I think it said it comes with the RCA deck....

That is what it is as I see it in mine. The pre installed clapton wire is divided into each pair of posts. Maybe it will be very well suitable for a single coil built I assume?

Oh yeah, politeness is important! I am the only vaper in this house and use this TFV4 with SMY TC 170W downstairs in my cave. If no one is home, I go about to refresh the air.

Let us know what you think of the clapton coils included with the mini. I did not like these supplied so I will experiment with my own builds later on.

I'm really glad you started a thread for this, I've had the tfv4 mini for a couple of months now and I have mixed feelings for about these coils. I've tried the C2, T3, S6 and the Q4, and non of them lasted me longer than a week if I was lucky. Most of them lasted me 3 days at about 300 puffs a day. It may have something to do with the juice I was using (Muffin man by One Hit Wonder) but even with thinner juice the taste varied every day. The Q4 was definitely my favorite for best flavor but I would only get about 3 days out of them. Next would be the S6 but I've had two duds in two packs I bought on separate occasions. The nickel coils take such a long time to heat up and the flavor just isn't as good. The rest of the coils just left me wanting more.

I have also tried building on the R2 and the RCA which I ultimately gave up on. I have tried over a dozen times to build on the R2, and each time it would taste great for the first two puffs but the wicks wouldn't stay wet (giggety). The Rca broke the third time I tried building on it, the peek insulator and post is no longer fully attached to the base. I wish I could say I dropped it or man handled it but I honestly have no idea how it happened. Regardless how good the RBAs are when wicked properly, it should be easier to do so with fewer issues. I bought two velocity clones to satisfy my building needs. I'm sure not everyone agrees, but it's more enjoyable to me.

Overall, this tank and it's coils are too expensive for me for every day usage. The coils are so hit or miss for me, it is not worth the headache. I really wanted to love the coils but they weren't consistent enough to feel confident that I was gonna have a good vape for breaks at work.

I bought a crown tank which just arrived three days ago and the flavor is just as good as the tfv4 mini on a good day. They are a fraction of the cost of the tfv4 coils and are notorious for lasting for a long time, I am hoping my experience with them will be better. An Aromamizer may end up replacing both of these tanks though.
