Hi guys,

I am new here and new to vaping so please keep that in mind. I tried to find an answer already in many places but I didn't.

I have Xcube2 with TFV4 and it is leaking.

What I observed and tested - it seems that juice is leaking through the coil itself (regardless of type 3,4,6) via cotton. There are no leaks outside - just bottom airflows after some time are completly fooded. I put that to the test by wrapping some tape around the coil to block flow to cotton (I didn't vape it this way no worries :D ) and it seems that no leeks are present. So... it has to do something with the coil itself (not any of the seals or threads) or the juice. I tried VG95 and some premade juices 50/50. Same thing. I tried different power settings and so on... every single time after leaving it in standing position (drip tip up) air intake is fooded shortly after.

What do I do wrong? My juice is missing something? Is it to thin/thick? My vaping technique is bad? - even if so why does it leak without vaping...

Yesterday I got some cheap ... tank IJUST2 and regardless what I do to it it doesnt leak but it is not even close to the experience with TFV4 regarding amount of vapor...

I know that those flow holes in TFV4 are massive but why some people doesn't seem to have any issues with that...

Just to avoid obvious questions
- Yes coil is screwed properly - liquid apears under the bottom thread which connects coil to the base where coils airflow is located.
- Yes chimney is screwed properly - juice is leaking even if tank is filled under the chimney/coil connection.
- Yes I put some juice on the new coil and let it soak before first vaping

Magic? :p

I can provide some photos/videos if needed.

I think I solved it. I removed top o-ring (one between top part of the tank and the chimney) as it was weirdly loose and was making it impossible to tighten everything straight. I attached new coil with pliers - to ensure tight fit. 30 minutes and it seems nothing leeks inside.

Apparently I pushed previous coils too much too fast or in general they were not fine with getting close to max settings as after taking them apart I realized that cotton was highly deformed next to the heating element. Now I have triple coil installed and on 80W it gives satisfying experience. Maybe later on I will try to bump it up a bit but first gonna give it few days at 80W just to test my theory. ;)

Bottom line from me so far is:
1) Make sure everything is tighten properly, no tilts, no loose fits. (thats where my top loose o-ring was making troubles and removing it fixed the issue. I don't carry it in the pocket so shouldn't be an issue)
2) Prime your coils well - and I mean it. Give them some extra love before using...
3) Start them up slowly...
4) Avoid max settings - I assume that is where I was destroying mine. Sooner or later I was pushing them to the limit... well they didn't take it too well.

Cheers, gonna keep you updated if sth else happen ;)

So... what I wrote before actually didn't work in a long run, but I promised myself to wait till I solve the problem.

I DID, FOR GOOD :D

Apparently gummy band from smoke that suppose to 'prevent accidental opening' and 'protect the device' when it falls is there for 1 more reason...
Well I didn't use it initially because - I dont give a damn about those things... If it opens to often or I break it then I would.
Every single person telling me that it is not leaking - HAS A BAND ON IT. Took a while to actually come up with idea and conclusion.
Putting rubber band stops leaking.
I mean... I should have know that already :D rubber stops leaking not only from the tanks.

BTW, Is that the Vacuum problem you were referring to? (after all I am still a noob :D )

Right now I have 2 of them as my top O-Ring is missing and I literally now have it sealed off from any air getting to the tank :D

Heh, funny how more understanding make us actually realize how little we know and how much more there is to learn ^^

Cheers

What I am sure of is that now problem is gone. As it was leaking before I was cleaning it every refiling :p

So to put it in simple words...

There was air getting to the tank somewhere on the top. Either between glass and top cap or through the top refill. Sealing it tight like this eliminated all the problems I had before.

Edit:
Btw, I am planning to make a YT Video explaining the whole story and the fix as I found more people having issue and nowhere quick working solution with explanation why :p

Coral subohm tank by ZPAL tested to 200W no dry hit, it is cross compatible with TFV4 coils, youtube review:

Here we go, more watts, yup thats what we need...not

Theres already tools doing their best to get vaping sh$tcanned by building 400w mods...no safety of course, but must have more watts than the last tool, and more clouds..

Why are some people obsessed with stuffing ever more amounts of (ever hotter) vapor into lungs that have been compromised by 20/30/40 years of smoking? Makes NO rational sense people.

I weep for vaping (usually i just weep for society in general)

you need to replace your top flat rubber seal. mine tore and that was y it is leaking. see the wicking should never cause dripping as the fluid is not heavy enough to pull air back through the wick unless there is negative air pressure in the tank, like after a "hit". but a leak will cause the wick to drain the fluid because of the air getting back in the top. i know because that was my issue, and that is a general gravity rule. see when the wick is full the liquid blocks the rest of the liquid from coming out with the help of the sealed tank, as the wick is full the air cannot get in and the fluid cannot get out, but break the seal or cause negative air pressure in the tank, and the wick will do its job.

I have three of these, one of my favorites. I use ONE rubber band on each one. 1 tank usually has a dry (on the inside) rubber band and one or more of the others are usually damp when I refill.

I'm careful during the refill to only get the tip of the bottle in the slot as once I plugged the entire slot with the nipple and bottle and got some flooding out the air holes on the bottom. I'm also careful to refill very quickly, close it up - reinstall rubber band and take a few fired/unfired draws on it to try to reintroduce vacume in the tank.

I like the top fill, great air flow and the RBA has lots of build room.
