So I'm Hoping admin see this and maybe move it to the best place as I'm still trying my best to navigate around this site properly. But I waited 2 maybe more weeks for a black tfv8, so i finally get it, i wick the clapton coils that come with it. Wicking is fine (leaked initially) after some proving and poking got that sorted. My issue is the flavour, it's just not that great in my opinion. I make my own juice and have a few gem recipes so I know there's nothing wrong there. And please don't shoot me for saying but the tfv4 rba flavour is like a million times better!!! Is it just wicking? I'm no noobie to coil building so I'm aware of all the things (at least I think so) to do. It just doesn't taste as good as the last smok setup. I'm running it on a h-priv so been able to mess about with the settings on that (soft Norm hard etc). I just can't get the flavour to come through. Seems to me they have compensated flavour for airflow imo. Any ideas or thoughts or help would be welcome indeed. Side note I have tried a few different builds including ss tiger coils on tc mode. Still not impressed

Yeah airflow kills flavour, guessing you tried half way instead of wide open?

Ye tried it all. Even tried it tight as, it does improve slightly but still not as good as the tfv4. It's made me chuckle slightly that no one has addressed this on the reveiws. There all banging on about how good the flavour on the rba is and for me it's just worse than before. If only they made an rba for the tfv4 with the same Allen key style setup (only real reason I bought it) instead of screws that round off over time, I'd be all over that like a rash.

oh the allen key screws strip over time too. when you look for reviews try to find some dork with under 500 views who paid for it. although they are entertaining and sometimes good looking these people that get everything for free also seem to love every product and this weeks product is amazing compaired to last weeks lol. TFV8 is just for clouds IMO.

I can belive all of that, I guess your right.
Think I might have a look at the smok rta g2, didn't realise it had the same style of deck until just now! I suppose sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say that was a mistake, that's not for me. Live and learn new all that

You have just disappointed me, i'm waiting for my TFV8 to arrive within a week...
I hope ur doing something wrong and its gonna be ok... well... i hope so...

I wish I was doing something wrong as I say I'm no stranger to coil building. I've been through all the trials and tribulations that a seasoned vaper would lol. I've tried the lot on this tank, rayon, muji, cotton bacon, stainless steel, fused claptons normal claptons, tiger wire!!!!! Can't see what else I can do short of taking the springs off my car and trying that!!!! You may find its for you, but if you want mamouth flavour (like I was expecting for some reason) . I'm not sure your gonna get it due to all the airflow. Be interested for someone to say I'm mad that's been vaping one, I will then copy what they are doing all day long.

I'm looking at the Griffin RTA, all say it's amazing then I see one girl who hates it. G2 looked good too but if I go by reviewers Griffin is the BEST lol... maybe, it's slightly newer thats for sure. The G2 looks to be built more like the TFV4 then TFV8 so fingers crossed. Let me know, I may get one since Griffin is $7 more and 1 girl absolutely hated it.

I took the plunge on a griffin 25 a month or so ago. In my opinion, it has better flavor than my tfv4 running the smok tf-q4 quad coils. I really like it, but it does have a few minor flaws(in my opinion). On mine, the juice control is not very smooth. It takes A LOT of force to turn it. I see that as a minor inconvenience. The other thing i hate about it is the drip tip. The factory one may as well not even be there it. It is absurdly short. I remedied this by using the 510 drip tip adapter and a tfv4 drip tip. Again, a minor inconvenience.

To make a long story short, i like it enough that i have several more on the way right now so i can have those stocked up for when the deeming regs hit.

IMO, all these high-powered tanks that take ridiculously high wattages are just cloud machines - with some of the more recent efforts like the Uwell Crown etc., they seem to have tried to inject some actual flavour as well as the cloudz, but they just burn through juice and battery power with diminished flavour to show for it IMO.

You're always going to get much better flavour from a topper that's designed for that purpose to begin with, like the Taifun GT2 etc.

See... Rips newest video says it's the best thing ever lol. Wonder why every company sends these people free gear? Sell 100,000 more tanks on lies.

I haven't gotten the flavor quite right also but close. the stock coils produce the best flavor and it's kind of sad I can't quite get there with this rba. I'm no noon but can't say I'm a pro also but I'm almost to the point of buying the stock coils...... one way to get people to buy expensive coils. I think I got better flavor from my crius but the deck isn't easy to work with.

I get ridiculous flavor from this tank, depending on the build of course . I didn't like the stock coils that much. And I don't really build my own but have some pre built fused claptons , tigers , etc. The flavor on this I have found is solely dependant on the wicking. I can get two entirely different experiences with the same coils depending on how much cotton I use. One is dull almost flavorless , and the other is amazing off the charts may as well drink the bottle flavor. The thing that works for me is when I wick this my cotton is barely in contact with the coils. No real resistance when pulling it through . Of course there also has to be enough cotton in the Wicking to avoid leaking as you know. It's a very delicate balance but entirely worth it in my opinion. My wicks are barely making contact with the inside of the coils before I prime them. I find the slight swelling of the cotton adds juat enough to where the Wicking is top notch and flavor is off the charts ridiculous, even when chan vaping at high watts never does the flavor reduce nor do I get a dry hit. Can just pull and pull til I'm all nicked out.
