I asked this over in the Thag Built/Chuck forum, but I haven't gotten any answers yet and I realized that it's not a Chuck specific question, so I thought maybe someone here could help.

I ordered my Lil Chuck with 510, but I'm considering changing that. I'm currently using an eGo, 510. It gives me just enough TH, sometimes a bit too much. I tried an 801 this week with an adapter, and though the TH isn't quite enough for me, I do like the flavor better. I also have a 901 atty coming this week to try.

My question: should there be a huge difference with TH on my LC vs. my eGo? Or is it a fairly minor increase? Will an 801 or a 901 at 3.7v be more like a 510 on stock batteries, or will it still have less TH?

TIA!

Throat hit is nicotine plus heat. The 3.7v on your LC is true 3.7v and the peak voltage lasts longer. The eGo doesn't reach 3.7v even though that's the rating - see Scottbee's Battery - Surprise thread. So that is dealing just with the voltage that you get pluging it into the ohms of the 510 atty.

The 901 and 801 is a different ohm rating so you'll get a cooler vape from both at 3.7v but a bit warmer (and more TH) with the LC than the eGo. (both using 510 to 901 and 801 adapters). I also find the 801 even cooler but I'm not big on throat hit, so a perfect match for you may very well be the 901, which also does well on certain flavors.

Thanks, Kent! I didn't mind the cooler vapor from the 801, it was just different and I got used to it fairly quickly. I do find the 510 a bit harsh at times, and in comparison to the 801, the flavors seem a bit burnt, too, so my main concern has been that my Little Chuck will intensify exactly those things that I dislike about my 510.

I appreciate the response. I had no idea when I typed my question that it would inspire nothing but crickets chirping in the silence. ;-)

You're welcome.

Some flavors can taste harsher on the 510 and some will be washed out on the 801. It's the nature of the different ohms on the atomizers.

so my main concern has been that my Little Chuck will intensify exactly those things that I dislike about my 510.

It would - with some flavors, not all. Tobacco flavors should taste better on the LC. But for other flavors having the 801/901 adapters will be good.

Thanks again, Kent. This is very helpful. I'm doing DIY liquid, so I can add alcohol for TH, and I can add extra flavoring, but I can't change the slightly burnt taste I'm getting sometimes with my 510 except by changing atties. Adapters are helpful, but I'd prefer not to be stuck with them all the time.

Ok.... one of those solve one problem and another arises... ;-) Contact thagbuilt and tell them to make the LC with a 901 connection. With the eGo, you're either have to vape not so harsh flavors or use the adapter. One other thing that will cool the vape a bit is removing the cone... it tends to keep the atty warmer. I know - but 'you like the look of the cone!' lol. Just saying... :)

I'm trying to get you to work with what you have rather than spending money for "solutions" that may become the next "problem". Jim Davis taught me that one.....
