My first post -- just wanted to express my gratitude for this forum and the wonderful advice. Got my first e-cig (DSE901) from e-smokey-treats based on reviews here and am very satisfied. Also ordered a 510 and am now ready to try a pen-style. I'm hooked! ... but still can't seem to put down the "analogs" yet -- convinced I need them, even without the nic cravings. However, I am down to 5 a day, which is a good start.

Thanks again for the support!

Welcome Susban!

Deja vu - I started with a 901 from e-smokey treats, went down to around 5 a day and next kit was a 510.

You're off to a good start... don't worry about the few analogs. A lot of us start off that way. When you're ready you may wake up one morning, take a drag on your cigarette and decide it tastes awful, smells worse and you just don't want it anymore. In the meantime, you already made a big accomplishment when you committed to vaping and cut down to so few analogs. Congratulations!

As the others have said . . . relax and don't stress about actually giving up the tobacco cigarettes. While there are some folks who immediately give up the stinky sticks, many folks find themselves gradually and quite painlessly reducing their tobacco use until they get down to one or two . . . and then oftentimes . . . none. :)

In the meanwhile, continue to focus on your pretty significant achievement of reducing your tobacco dependence.

Congrats and welcome. You'll find so much help and support here. :)

Not only am I new to vaping, but this is also my first time participating in a forum/blog ... it's great to experience the kindness of strangers for a change (instead of just their strangeness).

Ya'll are right -- I need to just relax about the regulars, I note that the more I stress about smoking them, the more I want to smoke them ... Also pleased to note that I have actually had cravings for the e-cig in particular, so the switch is definitely in progress.

Thanks again!

Oh, yes! I tried to quit smoking many times before, and the worst part was the sense of doom (and panic) I'd feel when I thought about never smoking again . . . the whole rest of my life without cigarettes. I'd get sweaty and start hyperventilating just thinking about it. :(

When I picked up vaping, my intention was NOT to quit smoking analogs. I simply wanted to cut down. I KNEW there was no way I could quit because I had tried so many times before and failed. Strangely enough, I think that mindset was actually quite helpful. Because I didn't intend to quit smoking, I didn't stress about it. And when I got to the point where I realized I could go without a cigarette, while it was scary, it was actually quite liberating.

I've now been tobacco-free for almost 6 months.

ramblingrose -- thanks for the welcome. The deja vu is cool  Have you stayed with the 910 and/or 510? Did you try a pen-style? Perhaps our tastes are similar and I'm considering trying another e-cig ... right now I like the 910 the best, but how do I know if I don't try them all!!!!
LOL, my crystal ball says you might end up like so many of us who just can't resist playing with their new toys and trying all the new ones!

I don't like the penstyle - to me it's an awkward size, and silly looking - although I do like the 801 atty with a JantyStick.

I still have the 901. It's a great basic e-cig. The 510 is a rocking vapor machine with a throat hit that I don't get from the 901. I also added a couple of Janty Sticks to my arsenal. I love it, but if you want your PV to look like an analog you won't want the Stick. I swore by the 901 when I started, but if I were to give up one now, that would be the one to go.

Have fun!

Of course I agree with the others, that you have already accomplished a lot...and you will get to where you want to be.

Also, that is awesome thing, to have cravings for the e-cig! I can't say I've exactly had that. Well, maybe I have, come to think of it. I've been having an analog (with espresso) at my lunch break at work, and then knowing I will have my e-cig on my drive home at 5:00, that is what I look forward to.

Anyway, welcome to this cool place!

Just a deja vu update ... the 901 is lonely in its box (may loan out to people at work who wants to give ecigs a try) and my 510 is always hot. I'm off to try a Janty Stick now!

;)
