Being a noob on this vape trail, I can see I will be a DIY'er soon. It would cost me too much to buy everything I want to try.:D

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the info here, it's outstanding!

The 'stickies' are amazing and I can't wait to get started.

It looks like One Stop's Master kit would be a good place to start, any opinion of that? Any that you think would be better?

BTW - I am ARC certified in toxic chemicals, don't think I'll have a problem with that part. :) I do realize the danger in Nic liquid. :)

Again, thanks for so much info!

I second that! My supplies are in Vape Mail as we speak. I also read dannyv45 and Hoosier's blogs. Lots of great info there.

When buying my supplies I followed what dannyv45 recommended

Haven't gotten to the blogs yet, but will as soon as I get back. Walking out the door at the moment. :)

When I put all the juices I wanted to try in 'my basket', it was $120+. Yeah, gotta get on that DIY thing. :D

Decided to stick with what I got, order the supplies and make my own.

I started DIY'ing 6 weeks into vaping and haven't looked back. I keep learning and advancing. I love it more and more each time I come up with a new recipe. You'll have your bombs, we all do, but keep at it and you'll reap some rewards that are so worth it. Keep reading the DIY forum there are really good recipes and advice to have and keep NOTES! Get a calculator, E-Juice Me Up is the one I use. Good Luck and Happy Vaping :vapor:

Wow $120.00 in flavoring to start out with. That's going to be a lot of little 5ml individual test batches your going to need to sample if you follow my blogs recommendation to taste each flavor individually. I hope you bought lots of little empty bottles:)

No no, it was over $120 in pre-made juices I wanted to try, that's why I decided I needed to start making my own, I can't afford that. And that was just the 1st round! There were still others. So I stopped myself from ordering and came to DIY board. :)

@DetriMental - I already loaded the E-Juice Me Up this afternoon. Just trying to decide what I need to buy and if the kits would make getting started easier.

My minimal DIY requirements:

nic
VG
PG
flavors
e-Juice Me Up calculator
20ml syringe
5ml syringes
1ml syringes
30ml bottles
5 - 10ml bottles (for test samples)
120ml bottle (for bulk nic/PG/VG base)
100ml graduated glass cylinder (for bulk base mixing)

Of course I have more DIY equipment
doh.gif
, but the list is what I actually use 98% of the time.

I mix 100ml of base (nic/PG/VG) and put that into a 120ml bottle that has a flip-top/turret cap. I use 5-10ml bottles for test recipes. Most of my mixes are 30ml, sometimes 60ml. Note that I do not use needles, pipettes or funnels; no need fer 'em.

Ya don't have to spend a fortune buying kits that have items ya probably won't use.

Good luck!

In doing some price comparisons, it looks like Wizard Labs prices are better on supplies than anyplace else I've checked. For bottles, syringes, bulk product. Still researching.....

Wizard labs has really good prices, but the nicotine is hit/miss.. you have to check EARLY every morning and don't blink - just order.. within hours it's sold out.. same goes with the flavors - most popular ones are sold out much of the time..

Next best price would be Best Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - MyFreedomSmokes.com - and they are down in your neck of the woods.. good quality and excellent service, same day shipping and a plus, the nicotine is packaged in glass..

For flavors I prefer One Stop DIY Shop - price per ml is equal to myfreedomsmoke, but can buy in 6 ml bottles to try them.. Also buy my bottles from there, they are 40 cents each.. can only beat that with usplastics website at 21 cents each (yeah, I know amazon and ebay, but I simply don't shop there).

DIY E-Cig Supplies & E-Cigarette Liquid | Make Your Own E-Liquid | RTS Vapes is also good for nicotine, PG and VG.. bought my first round from them because they offered small sizes and wasn't sure I'd like DIY.. my only problem with RTS was shipping.. $7.95 flat rate and it came in the exact same priority mail box that onestopdiyshop uses for a $5.00 flat rate.. myfreedomsmokes shipping is in next size larger box at $5.95 flat rate.. that extra $2.95 added onto the RTS shipping cost them my business..

syringes - if you have a tractor supply company store near you, they are 21 cents each.. if not, walmart pharmacy, cvs or walgreens..

Thank you for saving me some time! I do have very small, insulin syringes, my cat's diabetic, but other than flavors, they would be worthless I think.

Speaking of flavors????? I've smoked 2+PAD for 40+ years, I can taste next to nothing! I just started vaping a couple days ago and have 5 different juices, but can taste very little if anything in any of them, except for Menthol/Tobacco, which I really like, was a Menthol smoker. WIll my taste buds 'wake up' at some point, after not smoking for a while or will I have to make my juices stronger than normal forever? I think I will have to make them stronger at first.
I'm sucking on Chocolate/Raspberry and can barely taste berry and no chocolate. Go figure!

I hate to say this but it might not be your buds, it might be the liquid. You'll notice over time it might improve, or worsen, or stay the same.

That's why DIY is so great! This week you want a strong flavor, next week you want a hint of flavor, the week after that you don't like either one. You haven't spent a ton of $$ on liquids you don't like, and now you have the tools to make those liquids work for you by tweaking/adding/diluting.

Have fun!

On this particular juice? Yeah, could be. But the others are from VaporGirl. This one, I got conned into buying because I needed soft pipe cleaners and no one in town had them. So I went to a smoke shop, knowing they would. BUT, here's the kicker, they won't take a credit/debit card for anything less than $5. So to get over $5, I grabbed a bottle of Tasty Puff. If I had to get something, thought I could at least use that. Should have gotten incense.
