So I decided to venture further into my vaping hobby and have, pretty much, settled on the Sig Zmax V2 because I don't care for the look of a telescoping APV, i.e. the V5.

Is there an issue with attys not sitting flush?

Is the 510 connection threads prone to stripping, would a 510-510 connector help to protect them and would this change the appearance of the atty?

Obviously there is much I don't know and any and all info is appreciated.

The 510/eGo connection on the new production sigelei Zmax V2 should be exactly the same as new production Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3 and V5: one-piece stainless steel 510/eGo threading which is practically indestructible and the best on the market. It should also have a removable top cap. The top of the 510 connector stands a little higher than the top cap, which is not slotted. Check to make sure the V2 has those features. Older V2 and V3 had a press-fitted brass eGo thread that could come loose and fall out.

For me, the biggest con for the V2 is the feature you like: non telescopic tube. That's why Sigelei makes both tube types.

Here is what the one-piece stainless steel 510/eGo connector looks like on a current model V3 with the top cap removed. Current V2 and V5 should be the same. This V3 has a 1100 mAh 18500 inside.

Thank you so much, that matches the pics I've seen. I was afraid I would get something that wouldn't work after a couple months, but it seems to be well made. This is already going to stretch the limit of my vape budget, w/batt and charger, so I wanted to get the best quality I could for the price.

Thank you for your replies.
