since last night, i have noticed the integrated facebook login...


i left facebook years ago to get away from it, and now its back in my face in my new home.


i thought the idea of a forum is to seperate your personal life from your "online life"...


depending how this turns out... i might have to delete my ECF account...

i left facebook too, still have an account on there that i rarely use. There is a connect button up there but i dont use facebook and dont really see how facebook is really connected with ECF. Why would you delete your ECF account? Do you just hate facebook THAT much?

I don't think it's new...just don't "log in using Facebook".
I don't see anything but an OPTION to click a Fbook logo...it's not automatically finding my account or anything.
Like you I think, I hate Facebook and find it intrusive and frankly a bit dangerous regarding privacy.

^^ This. There's nothing requiring you to use FB if you have it, nor is there a requirement for you to use FB if you don't want to.

That Facebook login button has been there since I joined up almost 3 years ago, so it's nothing new.

As others have said, you aren't required to use it if you don't want to.

I'm pretty sure I remember one of the tech people here saying it's bundled into the forum software by default and would require significant coding to remove it, so they just left it.

AdBlockPlus is my answer for blocking unwanted clutter/elements/advertisements on sites.

vB4 has always had the ability to connect via Facebook. The new forum software we'll eventually go to also has this feature. It doesn't mean you have to use it, though.

it's been there since I joined and it lets me create a log in rather than use FB as well..

which is good I don't want all of y'all on my FB no offense but I actually KNOW everyone in my contact list real time.(except for Tia and Busardo I added their feed)

there is NO anonymity on the net though..know that.
