Sorry, don't post much, but read LOTS....this forum has been very helpful as I transitioned over the past 6 mos from beginner vaper to full time vaper. I treated myself to a Provari and reached the point where I was ready to move to a rebuildable. I decided to get the Z Atty Pro because reviews looked good (further searching revealed a lot of negative ones too).

The first couple of days were brutal. I broke the initial set up. Broke a ceramic wick. And was smoking pure metal. Ugh. I rewrapped and recoiled a number of times and hit a good setup finally. The airy intake is still requiring getting use too. But the flavor is there.

My vapor was non-existent and through this forum, realized i needed a bigger wick. I finally pried out the insulator, took 2 mesh wicks and rolled them together, and finally built a good coil last night. A bit high at 2.5 ohm, and its sucking my battery like crazy, but I get a good combo of vapor and flavor. I got a nic overdose and way too much throat hit, but it's calmed down today as it broke in.

So many, many thanks to those of you with your suggestions for others about this device, building coils and using ss mesh wicks. I can't believe I built my own. I have a lot more to learn. But the suggestions given in other posts about hot spots, metal tastes, ohms reading, etc were super helpful. I was afraid to pull the insulator out, but in no way does this wick compare to the little one installed on it. it's miles ahead. I felt confident that it could be done because y'all blazed the trail ahead. I look forward to getting closer to the vaping nirvana.

I'm not sure if you have seen the tutoring video Carl Zen did for the Z-Atty-Pro for Provape. I probably learned as much about RBA's in general from that video as any other that I viewed. Z-ATTY-PRO VIDEO TUTORIAL

My first RBA experience was with a couple of AGA-T2 genesis-style tanks last summer. I found that they had a very high learning curve for a first RBA; probably should have started with a rebuildable drip atomizer first. I found genny's leak if not kept upright (not a good portable tank for on the go purposes), hated the "genny tilt" to get it to wick properly, and didn't care for the stainless steel mesh wick. After a couple of months earnest use, I finally gave up on them an returned to using my dependable and consistant cartotanks.

A remarkable friend on ECF PIF'd a genuine Kayfun Lite Plus2 to me a couple of months ago. Having experience with making coils with the AGA-T's, making a single microcoil for the KFL+ was a breeze. Since the tank for a kayfun-style tank uses negative pressure like a cartotank does, there are not the wicking issues and fighting with gravity like the genesis-style tanks have. Cotton wick is so much easier to work with, too.

Aside from a temporary issue with leaking from a bad upper o-ring, I've not had any leaking issues at all; I can take the KFL+ out with me without fear on my Provari. I liken it to a cartotank on steroids. Great flavor machine. Tighter draw than I would like, but that's a minor point. I'm not about to drill out a $100 tank's air hole. Overall I'm extremely happy with my KFL; my cartotanks are still in use but the KFL and a couple of rebuildable drippers are my go-to juice attachments.

I find it interesting that reviewer PBusardo was asked if he could only choose one mod and one juice attachment what would they be. His answer was a quick Kayfun Lite Plus on a Provari. For someone who has easy access to anything imaginable vape wise, I found that spoke volumes.

That's great and kudos to you for jumping right into a genesis system. Like you, I tried the ceramic wick and it broke before I even got to fire the coil lol...

Try some ReadyXWick next time. That's what I have in my Zenesis Mini (same thing you have) and it works great! With the insulator out of the wick hole it fits the 3mm RXW perfectly. There are none of the issues with "hot spots", wicks perfectly, and chuck flavor like crazy!

I slide a heavy gauge needle into the wick and make a 5 wrap 30 gauge coil off the device. Then I "install" the completed coil/wick keeping the needle in to align it strait and centered. When you pull the needle out it leaves the wick kind of like an open straw and you'll never get a dry hit.

That build, for me, came in at 1.4 ohm and it's been going strong for almost 2 months now. I really should give it a dry burn at some point in time to clean the wick but it still tastes great and I don't' want to mess with the magic...
