I haven't tried Lorann's Orange Cream. I have tried Capella's Orange Dreamsicle and it is good, definitely tastes like a Dreamsicle. The Tasty Puffs is more of a true orange taste. When I mix it with the Spearminty type mint liquid it reminds me of the Mandarin/Mint Cigs that Camel sold in the tins a few years ago. The Chocolate Tasty Puffs is also good mixed with the mint liquid.

Dreamsicle sounds good too.

I can see how TP Orange would be different than LA's Creme. I imagine I'm going to end up with a drawer full of flavors by time I get settled into my favs.

Where did you buy your Prodigy and adapter? I'd like to have more options, but being interchangable would be a big bonus.

PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!

I still use my original 510 batteries when I'm out and at work. To me, the Prodigy is just too big for on-the-go use. But when I'm at home, I use it exclusively.

The Protege is new; it was just added to their site last night. It's supposed to be a lot smaller than the Prodigy (dime-size diameter versus the quarter-size diameter of the Prodigy). I can't wait to get it.

I was thinking my real test will be when i got back to work on Tuesday because I always watch the clock waiting for an hour to pass so I can run down and smoke at our little hut. I am already getting down the stealth vapor drags, so I'm not even concerned about that now.

This was the hardest thing for me to overcome... the urge to go outside for a smoke every hour or so at work. But after a few days, it passed. And since I work in a satellite office by myself, I can vape all day at my desk.

I'm nearly 6 weeks in now, one analog during that time just to see how it felt/tasted. It sucked!

Regarding DIY - adding flavor thins the liquid, then you need some VG to thicken it up again, or you'll have leakage. What you end up with is weaker nic content and less/no throat hit, in my experience. I still do it sometimes, because I love mint chocolate chip :) , but I am starting to lean towards buying my juices flavored rather than mixing them myself.

Good luck! You can do it!

So tell me more about the prodigy/protege... You add them to your regular 510 or 901? Does it really make a difference? Do tell... ;)

Thanks for the link!

The Prodigy is huge. I don't think I saw it in someone's hand before. The Protege looks like a better 2nd e-cig for me anyway. Still, I'll wait to see some of the reviews pop up.

I'm no expert on the Prodigy, seeing as how I've had mine for only a month. But I can tell you that, hands down, it's my favorite PV.

You can get it with your choice of adapter and, I'm pretty sure, the adapters are interchangeable. I bought mine with the 510 adapter, which means that I can use my 510 atties and carts with it. But they offer adapters for the 801 (penstyle) and 901 (mini) as well.

As far as making a difference goes, does it ever! It uses two 3V batteries for a total of 6V of power. And it has a manual switch. The vapor and throat hit are amazing. It puts my 510 batteries to shame. Plus the batteries are user changeable. So when they die, you can buy your own to put in it.

As I said previously, the only drawback is its size. Imagine a roll of quarters with your 510 atty and cartridge sticking out of it. It's perfect for home use. But I don't want to take it out because 1) it's not as pocket friendly and 2) it could really be easily confused with illicit paraphernalia. (Or at least I've been told. I'm not being facetious; I honestly know nothing about those kinds of things.) So I'm hoping the Protege will fit the bill for on-the-go use. It uses only one 3.7V battery. So it won't be as powerful. But, like the Prodigy, the battery is user changeable.

I agree. Breaking all my "run outside" habits will be hard to get used to. But that's one of the reasons I wanted to stop smoking. You always develop that smoker-envy from people saying "I wish I smoked so I could take breaks."

I've got everything on order except the VG. I have a few hobby places around so it should be easy to find.

The flavored juices I have are 24 ml. The unflavored I ordered is 36 ml. Hopefully when I mix that with VG I'll be able to keep the ml above 20. If not, I saw 48 ml at myfreedomsmoke which should give me the 24 ml again. I still have quite awhile before I can say what I like, but at least there's plenty out there to pick from.

Congrats on your almost 6 weeks! :D

I still go outside every hour at work. I could very easily stealth vape at my desk. But I REALLY need to get away at least once an hour. Plus, I'd miss all of my smoking buddies and miss the chance to convert them. I convinced three to order PVs just last week. :D Two ordered the 510. I'm not sure what the other guy ordered.

When winter comes, I'll probably just walk down to the basement stairwell or something. Just anything to get away from my desk.

Plus, since I take the stairs, it's built-in exercise every hour anyway.

Thanks for the info Greg! I have ordered the Protege and can't wait. I use the 510 and probably will continue to use that when out and about, but will love to have the Protege for home use! Wonder how long until we get them???? ;)

First, thanks to this forum and active members for all the great information. I lurked around for about a week considering switching to e-cigs. The video reviews and guides were awesome in convincing me that I could convince myself this is still smoking. Besides the nic addiction, I know I have the oral fix because patches and gum don't even feel like an alternative to me.

I pulled the trigger and bought a 510 starter kit from RMV along with mint, havana, cappuccino, and spearmint 24mg 10ml eliquids. Ordered on 9/2 arrived on 9/4... that's quick!

My 510 showed up yesterday at 1:15pm and I haven't wanted or smoked a regular cig since. That's a pretty strong statement since I've smoked for 17 years between 20-30/day. 1 day down and hopefully around 20,000 left.

With my current juices I found I like a mix of havana and mint. Cappuccino is good and mixes with mint to taste even better. I'm kind of disappointed in spearmint, the flavor is so weak you have to try to taste it. Only complaint about RMV was about half their eliquids were out of stock. There were other juices they listed I would have liked to try as well.

Since I'm convinced this seems to be a real alternative to smoking, I went ahead and orders a bunch of LorAnn flavors and some flavorless 36mg 30 ml liquid from esmokeclub last night. Thanks to the forum info, DIY mixing is going to be my method of choice going forward.

So thanks, hello, and stuff! :D

3 months later.....

I haven't smoked an analog in at least 3 weeks. The last time I did was just out of curiosity and it's not very pleasing any more. It tastes like an ashtray smells. In total, I've smoked 5 analogs in 3 months.

Health-wise, it's awesome. The only time I cough now is if I hit my 6v like a 3.7v. I can take huge deep breaths and I don't hear anything rattling around in my lungs.

I do have a new addiction though.

Hardware :D

My sig says I've saved over $600, but I think I'm about $700 invested... completely by choice. I probably have enough 510 parts to last a year, got a black silver bullet from altsmoke, a BB on pre-order, enough flavorless 48mg juice and Lorann's to last a good 6 months, and about a dozen pre-flavored 24mg juices.

I'd buy it all again with the exception of spearmint juice, weak and eh. Favs have got to be camel, watermelon, mint & menthol, and clove.

As an added bonus, two of my close friends have converted. It was as easy for them as it has been for me. Some other friends and family are going to get disposable 510's for Christmas.

Maybe in 3 more months, I'll be a mod geek.

Thanks ECF!
