I think the news piece on the BBC the other day will be the spark that kicks e-smoking into the main stream - it certainly was for me - believe it or not I hadn't heared about e-smoking before I saw that piece - same goes for several friends who are also considering taking the plunge so my first thanks must go to the BBC.
I'm a chicken so never dive in head first - I did my research (maybe not well enough) and came across this forum which has been a wealth of information so my second thanks goes to everyone who has contributed to making this forum the font of all knowledge for e-smokers.
A couple of days ago I made some ebay purchases - a 901 off e-cig-world and 20ml of 36mg Wicked (Camel) and a spare atomizer off pillbox38 and at 8.00am this morning the postie was banging on my door with all three packages - yipee!! - so my third thanks goes to both e-cig-world and pillbox38 for exceptionally fast delivery - cheers guys

I was very impressed with the 901 from e-cig-world - from what I can see he (she) currently sells the cheapest mini starter kit on ebay (UK) and the quality feel of the mini I received exceeded my expectations - It was also smaller than I expected. The mini I got was white - I would have prefered black with a blue led (so no one will mistake me for puffing on a real cig when I pluck up the courage to use it in my local) - but for some reason black is much more expensive that the white - probably a supply and demand thing. However I bought a black atomizer off pillbox38 so I can mix and match - the half white/black looks pretty good in my opinion - I'll get a spare black battery from him shortly when I'm ready for the pub.So to my first use off the thing - what can I say - it was one of the most disappointing experiences of my life! The vapor the mini was producing was minimal and the taste was acrid - smoking cartridges at least was not for me. I dripped a drop of Wicked into the cartridge and tried again - nasty - better vapour but I could taste the liquid on my tounge and it made my lips tingle - at this point I was thanking god I had kept costs to a minimum and that I should be able to recoup some of my outlay by reselling on ebay.
Disponted and disgruntled I rolled up some virginia so I could smoke something decent while I composed a post to the new members board to vent my frustration. Now for some reason I had missed reading the posts in the new members board when I was doing my 'research' - probably thought that I'd learn more from the experienced members that I would from the newbies. Anyway - having to go into the newbies forum to make my first post I saw RatInDaHat's post "Helpfull links and videos for a new user" -- DOH! - what an ... I felt when I saw that the cartridge that is fixed to the mini when you receive it is empty!! - well how was I to know it was supposed to contain fluid soaked wadding!!
Quicky I ripped open a new cartridge (regular high) and WOW - lots of vapour and quite a nice taste - my disappointment turned to pure joy
I delayed my first post to sit back and enjoy my new toy and several hours later I'm still enjoying it - so my final thanks for this post go to Rat for showing me what a complete plonker I was - cheers Rat
