I got rid of the pin on my Grand a long time ago, no problem. It always seemed to go into the locked position too easily. I have several other metal REO's that have enough tension to keep them unlocked until I wish otherwise, but the Grand was always a bit loose.

Excellent. I'm going to do this right when I get home. Thanks

Fwiw, I did not have much luck with just pushing the pin into the button on either of my Grands. Your experience may be different but I had a problem with the button hanging up on occasion after I had pushed it in--hanging up in the firing position. Just couldn't get the pin pushed in to where it was perfectly flush. I was near to a melt-down a couple of times.
I contacted Robert and he instructed me about how to disassemble my Grand enough to remove the locking pin entirely. I would be glad to pass those instructions on to you if you need them. Good luck!:)

You can always get a button without the locking pin I have a bucket of them
Well.....you still have to take the button out to replace it. Might as well just push the pin out while you're at it and save the postage for a no-pin button, don't you think? Typical merchant, always trying to drum up business.

I was just trying to be nice . Some folks struggle with the button and having a spare is a good thing . Your right I do sound like a greasy salesman

My shirt-pockets are in the process of rounding the corners of the Grands I have now and they are coming along nicely. Like I told you the other night, I'm working on a brushed finish a year at a time.:)

The gentle rounded corners are a very nice touch. In my newness, I have never had to suffer thru those micro fillets of old.
