Agave,

I had that too, in fact I used to get it pretty regularly, even when I was smoking. Have no idea what it is, but I agree, it's hella annoying. I even posted a question about it here, when I was about 2 weeks into vaping.

I've always thought it's certain flavorings that do it, whether in foods or in your liquid. Brushing doesn't work, water doesn't work, it's really just a matter of waiting it out.

The last time it happened, I had been vaping a grape liquid. I don't eat grape-flavored stuff much, or any fruit flavored stuff at all. I used to think it was eating too much sugar--I've never really nailed down what causes it.

I noticed later on after I went on the Atkins diet, that I got that same taste when I was in ketosis. I have no idea if it was coincidence or if that's really what it is.

I hope yours goes away soon--it does pretty much ruin the taste of everything that you put in your mouth.

I hear ya Thrasher. I also think it could be the low volts and the 50/50.

Oh boy. Agavehound I'm sorry we've taken your thread so OT. This has been happening to me the last few nights.

I'll be good for a bit now. Back to you Agavehound :thumb:

I"ve been at this a year and it still happens to me. I don't have an answer for why but, for instance, some days foods taste sweeter and other days saltier or spicier. It passes as in doesn't last longer than a day. The most aggravating for me is my coffee. I usually use two packs of Splenda in it (its a big mug) and some days its just sickeningly sweet so now I taste test starting with one pack only. Last week I threw out my salad because the usual dressing I use became unbearably salty. Go figure. All I've been able to come up with is its a form of vaper's tongue. Maybe one set of buds has gone into shock and they balanced out the ones still tasting... like maybe tasting sweet along with salty softens the salty and if sweets aren't working salty becomes too strong? Dunno. Theorizing from cooking/baking and using flavorings.

Lucky you...my last episode lasted 3 weeks. Like Chinese water torture. :glare:

 Last night it went from sweet to salty...I think I'm gonna go nuts! Funny how salty isn't bad with vaping or coffee or chocolate but on the other hand, sweet taste ruins just about everything including vaping. I prefer the salty over sweet any day. I wonder how tequila tastes...I think I'll try a bit when I get home. :)
